Cindy's POV

My boyfriend's alarm beeped loudly from the other side of the bed, alarming everyone in the house that it was 6am and that they need to get their asses up for the day, or mostly that Mike should get his ass up for the day to go to work—right after he dropped his sister off at school.

Mike is the type of guy who likes getting up earlier than he should, so he could have all of the time he needed to get ready without any pressure put on him, and he didn't care that he would wake his girlfriend up in the process. He did, but he didn't care since I'm also the type who can fall asleep right after he turned the stupid beeping machine off.

His lack of reaction made me groan internally, burying my head in my pillow in frustration since he wasn't going to reach over and turn it off any time soon. I looked over at his sleeping frame, noticing that his eyes were still shut and his chest moved slowly, indicating that he was indeed, still sleeping. I always wondered why he chose to get an alarm which didn't even work on him, but then I remembered I was the one to wake him up most of the time. So, his alarm was mostly for me, funnily enough.

I sighed and looked up at the ceiling for a moment, my eyes going over the poster that Mike put up a long time ago, showing a forest somewhere in Nebraska which he never wanted out of his sight at night. Then, my eyes went back to my boyfriend and since he wasn't waking up, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I reached over his body, not caring that I was putting my entire weight on his chest, and turned the alarm off with a huff. Mike, feeling my body on top of his, groaned painfully and grimaced at the way that I chose to wake him up that morning, although his eyes were still shut. He tried to move away but my body wouldn't let him do so.

"Wake up sweet boy." I tried to speak with a low voice, knowing that he didn't like people talking loudly in the morning, or just loud noises in general—even though he decided to pick an alarm that beeped right into his ear, which he didn't even wake up to either way.

He groaned again, trying to move away from my body which weighed on top of his still. He moved his head sideways, trying to block the light from hitting his eyes, and he reached with his left hand to rub the sleep off from his eyes. I smiled softly at the sight under me.

He finally managed to open his eyes and look up at me with eyes still squinting from the sunlight. He sighed softly and put an arm around my frame which made me smile, and dragged me down towards him as he shielded his face in my neck. I laughed at the prickling sensation of his stubble and warm breathing on my neck, trying to move away from his tight hold since it tickled.

"Mike," I whispered in amusement when he remained still. No other sound was heard, only his soft breathing on my neck. He hummed, the sound vibrating through my body.

My hand went up to his hair and played with it, hearing him sigh at the sensation.

"You have to get up. Come on."

He mumbled incoherent words under his breath, making me laugh.

"Mike."

He hummed again. I pushed his body away from mine, making him look up at me in protest. I didn't say anything else, and by the look in my eyes, he understood what I was trying to tell him. He closed his eyes with an irritated sigh and got up from our bed, sitting with his legs hanging from the sides. My eyes never left him, seeing as he reached over to rewind his tape—which he always did before he fell asleep and right after he woke up—and grabbed his pills which he decided to hide in his drawer.

As Mike finally got up, I decided to still lay down and try to get some sleep, knowing that my boyfriend was up and about to get ready and not still sleeping like he used to do earlier. My head hit the soft pillow and my body curled under the covers, but I couldn't find my sleep yet. I opened my eyes, looking at my boyfriend who was doing push ups on the floor. I scoffed at the sight.

Who does push ups right after they get up?

That's right. Mike does.

Since I was still tired, I subconsciously started to drift off while also listening to Mike going to the bathroom, coming back and dressing up in his usual work attire. The routine.

I listened to my soft breathing slowing down, and I was about to fall asleep until I felt a kiss on the side of my head. My eyes opened on their own and as I looked up, Mike was already walking away and surely towards his little sister's room, then he stopped by the doorframe and looked over to me with a soft smile.

"I love you."

I smiled at him, "Love you more!"

He looked at me for a moment before walking away, making me sigh in satisfaction before drifting off to sleep.
