The Dragon in Red

Chapter 5, Finally Sweet Revenge

I fly through the sky, flying to the dark kingdom. Finally ready for my revenge. As we approach the Dark Kingdom, dark dragons confront us. Trying to stop us they block our path having spears pointed at us. "Move." I command. They refuse and I command them again, "I said, Move." They refuse again, I send two soldiers at them then attack them from behind. After making a path through the dark dragons me and my small army continue our journey.

We finally arrive at the dark kingdom, its guarded by armored and armed guards. Two wizards ride the biggest dragon guards. I send a shard of ice at one of them, knocking one of the wizards off their dragon. "Didn't know we were letting humans tame us now. I'll make sure to write that in your tombstones." I laugh. They fly at me trying to knock me out of the air. I dodge one of them hitting the other one. My wings get tangled in theirs and we start falling through the sky. I push them off of me, sending them flying back. I fly back up to my army, the war has started.

Moon arrives with her army; we are outnumbered by hundreds. But if human history has taught me anything it's that numbers don't matter. I fly toward Moon she's wearing armor as well. It's black, doesn't look very strong. She pushes me with her claws, they scrape against my belly armor. I hit her with a breath of fire. Max attacks Moon from behind, clawing at her neck. Moon's neck armor breaks, I drag my claw across her chest armor. My claw being superheated melts through her armor breaking it off. A guard tackles me and Max, I fly toward the ground. Landing and sharpening my claws against the ground. Moon doesn't give up, she flies toward me. "Stupid decision." I say to Moon. "Maybe on your part. You should've just let me handle my kingdom." Moon says in response. I smirk.

"What you forget Moon... Is that I am ruler of the sky and the ground. The legendary dragon. The ruler of all dragons. Your kingdom is my kingdom. I'm ruling my kingdom how I wish. And I will have no-one stopping me." I say, holding her armor in my claws. She glares at me, "You should have stayed hidden. The dragon world ran just fine without you." Moon growls at me. I laugh and pin her to the ground. "What you don't understand is that I would have stayed hidden if you would've kept your dragons in line." I look at her and pounce to the next dark soldier. They fight me off but, in the end, I win.

After fighting few to many dark soldiers I meet up with Max. "How many soldiers are down?" I ask. Max replies with "We have ten left, they have thirty left." I smile. " Good. Tell each of our soldiers to get at least three. No doubt Moon has backup on the way. Take the injured soldiers to the healer in fire city." I tell Max. she nods and flies off. Moon comes charging at me. I growl, "You just don't give up. Such a pity. You would have made a great soldier. All you had to do was give up. You shouldn't have challenged me." Moon scoffs, "I didn't challenge you, you challenged me! I only defended my kingdom!" I breath a breath of fire in her face, blinding her. "Keep your people in their place and we wouldn't be here!" I yell. I cut Moon's chest, and she falls out of the sky. I look around. There is blood everywhere, weapons abandoned on the ground.

I had finally got it, my sweet revenge. But at what cost? Children without mothers, or fathers, some without siblings. Is this what I wanted? No. I just wanted revenge. For my parents' attacks to be recognized as not just a little fight. But a war. Dragons need to know that I am their new leader. And going against the rules can result in war. I will have no-one disobey me. I am the ruler of this land, and I will not take disrespect from anyone.
