Alice's POV:

I take a deep breath as I look into the mirror to see if what I'm wearing is nice enough. I put on a blue and white striped dress that stops above my knees. I turn in the mirror trying to gauge wether or not the red heels were too much. Maybe I should put on flats.

"Are you going to wear those heels?" He asked. We were getting ready to have dinner with his family, and I was finishing up getting dressed. I had just slipped my feet into a pair of black heels.

I spent around letting the black dress I was wearing flare a bit. "Why? You don't like them?" I ask him feeling a little insecure.

"I don't like it when you wear high heels." He says. I frown as I take them off sadly. I love high heels. I walk over to my closet and pull out some black flats instead. "Much better," He says with a smile. I force one back.

I frown. I'm about to reach down and take them off, but I stop myself. Harry isn't him. Maybe he will like them, and I like wearing high heels, so I'm going to wear them. I head towards the door grabbing my red purse along the way. I reach into it and take out a pair of headphones putting them in my ears. As I walk out the door and lock it behind me. Breakeven by The Script is playing.

I'm cleaning the dishes and swaying slightly to the song Breakeven. He walks in the door. I smile at him, but he doesn't return the smile.

He walks over to my phone and pauses the music. "I'll never understand why you like this song so much. It's so stupid." He says.

"I think it's a sweet song." I say softly. I turn to look down at the plate in my hands once more, beginning to try and scrub away the food from it.

"I don't get it."

He never did, and he'll never get me. I thought ever since he left that I get it even more, but I'm not so sure anymore. Now I think it may have been a good thing he left. After all I did score this amazing date with this really hot and nice guy, so maybe it was for the best.

When I get to the cafe I'm suppose to meet Harry at I start to look around for a table. He'll probably be a little late, so hopefully I can get us a good place to sit. I am about to go for my usual spot that I sit at when I come here, but some guy is already sitting there. I start to look around for somewhere else to sit when I hear my name being called.

"Alice!" I turn my head to see Harry standing there waving at me. I smile. He was the guy sitting at my usual table. His back was facing me, so I couldn't see him at first. I walk over to him. He pulls my chair out and helps me in. I smile once more. He's so nice. I love that about him.

"Hi, how are you?" Harry asks me.

"I'm good." I say. I'm suprised to find that I actually mean it. I haven't felt that way in a while. "You?"

"Good," He says smiling. I smile back, nervously shifting in my chair a bit. I hear something drop to the floor.

"You dropped something." Harry says. He leans down to get it. When he sits back up, I see it's my headphones.

I blush. "Thank you," I say.

"No problem, so what type of music do you listen to?" He asks me after handing back my headphones.

I shrug. "All types, I really love James Taylor's music." I admit sheepishly.

"No kidding? I love James Taylor!" He says. Then frowns but his smile doesn't disappear. "I mean his music, not like love him. I mean I'm sure he's a great guy." He laughs. I find myself genuinely laughing too. God, how long has it been since I laughed? I can't help but feel happy around Harry though, there's just something about him.
