As the dim light of dawn slowly filters into the room, Barbatos stirs from his deep slumber. His head feels heavy, a dull ache reminding him of his previous night actions. And just like clockwork, a hangover soon engulfs him.
With a groan, Barbatos slowly pushes himself into a sitting position, his head throbbing with each movement. His head aches and fills with nausea. It doesn't help that the small sliver of light that shone past the curtains was shining right into his face.
He quickly covers his face with his hands so as to not allow the light to shine into his sensitive eyes at the moment. Then that sharp pain appeared back in his head. He rubs his temples, attempting to alleviate the dull ache that radiates through his skull.
Barbatos takes a moment to stop massaging his temple and looks up to allow his eyes to wander the rooms. His vision was somewhat blurry so he couldn't make out most of the stuff in the room he was in. But one thing he knows for certain, is that this isn't his room.
As his eyes continue to drift across the room, they land upon a figure lying peacefully beside him on the bed. For a moment, he stops breathing, believing that there was some stranger laying in bed with him.
"I didn't take anyone to the palace last night right?? I mean I was stupidly drunk but surely not. Surely not!"
His mind quickly begins to try and recall everyone he had an interaction with last night while he was getting wasted. But as he was panicking to himself, the figure next to him began to move under the sheets.
With a mixture of caution and curiosity, Barbatos inches closer, attempting to study the face of the person beside him.
Their features seem vaguely familiar, but Barbatos mind was in too much of a haze to even connect the dots together. The effects of the hangover further cloud his senses, making it difficult to distinguish anything.
Then the figure turned to their side and Barbatos was able to distinguish the person's very noticeable red hair. Upon noticing their hair, he immediately rubs his eyes, trying to get the haze out of them to make sure his eyes didn't deceive him.
But his heart began to race when he realised the person he is currently right next to, is none other than Diavolo.
"..."
"What did I just get myself into?"
"I didn't...no, I couldn't have. But, I was also very drunk, so maybe???? What?! What am I going to do?!?"
As Barbatos was going through every single event that he could remember, he failed to notice Diavolo slowly stirring from his sleep and opening his eyes.
As Diavolo gradually awakens from his slumber, his eyes flutter open, adjusting to the light that filters through the curtains. He rubs his eyes to remove the haze that clouds them.
He is still very much tired but could not ignore the amount of movement going on around him. Diavolo's eyes then shift upwards towards the person sitting upright, who appears to be in the middle of freaking out to themselves.
It was difficult for Diavolo to run out the remaining blur from his eyes before he recalled that the person next to him was Barbatos. Completely forgetting he had chosen to sleep with him the other night.
Diavolo groans as he sits upright and rubs his eyes as once he has done so. He then looks over at Barbatos, who seemed to be in deep thought over something he can't guess.
"You doing alright Barb? You look like you seen a ghost or something"
Barbatos stopped thinking and slowly turned to look at Diavolo. Diavolo just looked at him and waved at him.
