You frantically tried to explain yourself. They all looked at you, shaking their heads and scoffing.

" But you must help in the resistance! It is a must! Do you wish to keep our home safe or not?! " One of the youngsters shouted, circling around you.

" I agree. We don't want a rebel living with us. "

You shook your head, waving your hands to try and get their eyes on you.

" But you must understand! I can't heal nor can I fight, I don't wanna die! Please! I can find hiding spots or something, and its not like the enemies can get into the water anyways!! "

So many eyes were on you, but they were all sharp stares.

" Are you stupid?! It doesn't matter if they can get into the waters or not, what matters is that our home is in danger. You're either gonna be a nurse or a soldier, no choice. "

You didn't want to die! The Shogun's army was so strong, you would be reduced to a baked fish within seconds..

" But.. " It was hopeless. It all went through one ear out the other.

Suddenly, a girl jumped in, swimming around the group.

" I think.. if your not going to help the resistance at all, than you don't deserve to be apart of us. You should be ashamed to call yourself a Watatsumi Mermaid if you refuse to help Watatsumi. "

Your jaw dropped in horror as everybody slowly stared at you. Their stares felt like knives! Even the ones not looking at you.. they were judging you.

" You know what? Yeah. Just.. just leave. You can't even help your own home, so whats the point of staying here? " 

" Wait! Wait, this is all a big misunderstanding- like, I do want to help, but.. "

" Nonsense! Leave at once. It's been decided. If you wanna side with the Shogun that badly, than how about you go live in Tatarasuna instead? "

" I can't survive in Tatarasuna! Please! Let me stay, I wont be able to live long without the coral here.. the other nations dont have the same corals, and sealife.. if I get a sickness, how will I heal it if my system is different from humans and cannot be recovered with normal medicie?! "

" Than it's your problem. You want to be a coward, you die like a coward. "

Your jaw dropped further. They were gonna let you die for just not wanting to fight?!

" But! " 

" Leave. "

They were all staring at you harshly, your own peers and friends.. You had no choice but to drop your head in shame and slowly, but surely swim away.

It felt so uncomfortable, the waters slowly changing the more you swam. The warm, welcoming coral and colors of Watatsumi shifted to the plain, empty sea of sand and seaweed.

It felt like your body was going numb the more you swam.. you weren't sure where you were. You stuck your head up.. uh.. it was some sort of big island. And the weather wasn't too good anymore.. the water was dark, and scary. And there was large heaps of seaweed, junk and sticks in the water. You felt yourself getting sick from the change.

Watatsumi Mermaids weren't ever, ever supposed to be in these waters. 

You couldn't keep your eyes open, there was too much seaweed and filth. You heard loud rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning. It was so scary, there was never such a thing as thunder or lightning in your home..

Tears pricked at your eyes, dissolved immediatly in the waters. Just a few more hours, and maybe you would find Inazuma City, or Ritou.. but you didn't really know where they were.

More lightning.. it was louder, and louder. Your limbs were getting weak, slowly, you collapsed onto a rock, a faint blue hue surrounding you as the storm got more violent.

Lightning struck closer, and you realized it was getting even more dangerous as you scrambled to get off the rock, but it was too late- a loud crash, and you were sent tumbling off your rock, crying out in pain.

It took a few more minutes until you were too weak to trudge on, and finally, being slain in a storm.
