It had been a couple weeks since Lucy had been undercover in a drug ring; and she was finally coming home. Though Tim would never admit it out loud, he was scared whenever she went undercover. Of course it was because of his trauma with his ex-wife, but it didn't make him any less scared. He knew that Lucy could take care of herself and she had proven that time and time again. Tim sighed as he sat on the couch, the current football game blasting off the walls.
It was his off day, and though he didn't like not being on duty, he had to take it. He took a swig of his cool beer that stood on the end table next to him. He shifted in his seat, trying to get comfortable but to no avail. Relaxing was definitely a foreign concept to him; but when Lucy was there, she helped him.
God did he miss Lucy a lot. He sat his beer back on the table before looking down at his dog, kojo. Kojo was currently staring at the door, which made Tim on alert. He turned his attention to the door before standing. He tended to trust Kojo's instinct to things if he could read by his body language that something was up. As he stood up fully, he'd hear the sound of a car door slamming. Tim slowly drew his gun before walking over to the window, which faced the driveway. As he peered out of the window, he saw the figure of a woman covering her face. He watched the woman as she made her way up the driveway and to the front door. He still watched through the window, with his gun in his hands. He assumed that she had the wrong house, but when he heard the clicking of his locks, he didn't know what to expect. He quickly walked toward the door and had his gun pointed at the door.
As the door slowly swung open, he aimed it at women, waiting for her to do something. As the women walked into the doorframe, she picked her head up and raised her eyebrow.
"Now, is that anyway to greet your girlfriend?" Lucy joked as she took off the hate that shielded her from the sun. Tim sighed and lowered his gun. He embraced her in a hug. As he breathed in her scent, she laughed into his chest.
"I missed you so much Luce." Tim said as he took a step back to let her breath. As he took a step back, Kojo took his chance and jumped up onto Lucy. She nearly fell over, but she didn't care. She gladly pet the dog and gave him all the attention. Tim stood there silently watching the both of them, internally raging for not getting any attention from HIS girlfriend. If almost sensing what he was feeling, Lucy lifted her head up with a grin.
"Aw babe, don't worry you'll get your turn once I shower." Lucy said as she pushed Kojo off of her. Tim rolled his eyes as he walked back over the couch before setting his gun down on the end table. He picked up his remote and turned off the television before walking back to his girlfriend.
"I thought you weren't supposed to be back for another month? Is everything ok?" Tim questioned frantically trying to find answers. Lucy sighed as she placed her hands on either side of her hips. She should have known that he was going to question her.
"No, my assignment got finished early. I was told I could come home. Unless you wanted me gone for another couple of weeks?" Lucy joked as she walked toward their shared room. Before she had been sent undercover, they had both decided it was best to move in together. It saved them both financially once Tamara went off to college. It's not like she needed the extra space, so she moved in with Tim. Of course if Tamara needed a place to stay, she always had a place at their house. Since both Tim and Lucy consider her family.
Lucy placed the bag on the bed, before unzipping it. She rummaged through her clothes before sighing. Her heart quickened as she leaned against the bed. She felt like she had to swallow an entire apple just to breathe. She couldn't gulp down what she was hiding from Tim . She had learned how to lie to be a CO but lying was hard when she was with Tim. For the most part he could see through her. But she felt like she was lying as soon as she got into the house. Her heart kept thumping in her ears and she didn't know what to do. She knew she had to eventually tell him, but she just didn't know when. God she really did hate keeping secrets.
