Ali - Ahad taught me something about human behaviour. Although he was never the kind to worry about others, yet there was a part of him that was desperate to hear that his wife was okay and would be Fine. I was sitting opposite from him in the waiting area when her family arrived. I knew that if her father had spoken with Ahad, one of them—likely Afreen's father—would also be in the hospital bed.

Ali – "salam sir! Please have --" I tried having a decent conversation with him but he interrupted "not like I want to talk to you people but these are the top class accident experts and general doctors, they'll be checking on my daughter" her father had anger in his eyes, not like he shouldn't Afterall her daughter is lying on the hospital bed. I knew Ahad egoistic personality wouldn't allow his wife to be treated by anyone but his own staff. "with due respect sir the world class doctors are already handling her case and she'll ---" once again I was interrupted but this time by Ahad.

Ahad – "okay!" I knew her father moto is same as mine, her to be healthy so I accepted. "my people will guide them to her room" there was plenty if distance between us but her father started coming close to me though he had anger in his eye but also a glimpse of confusion like Ali's. "if anything happens to my daughter, I'll kill your whole damn family" I didn't want to create a scene in my hospital so I left the waiting area and went to the deans office. "what's the update?" I questioned getting in, he choke on his drink "speak" I tightened my fist holding my anger.

Dean – "sir we try – I mean – she is you know" my one wrong word and he'll take his anger out on me so I stopped and reframed my sentence after gaining some confidence "sir we have done her X RAY and the reports will be here in no time, praise be to lord there isn't any major blood loss just some minor injury as far as I think but the reports will further strengthen it. I think we should wait."

Ahad – "when will she regain her consciousness?"

Dean – "that is something, I can't say for certain."

Ahad – "if your doctors didn't tell me for CERTAIN in a while, you'll be in the hospital bed and will have no doctors at all".

Zarnab - "Ahad" just as I thought he's here threatening the dean, never could I imagine him acting this way, he looked at me wanting answers "the reports came, so her right hand has some serious muscle stiffness though no impact on bone, her legs were also impacted so I think she'll have problem in walking for a while but"

Ahad – "but what?"

Zarnab – He seemed composed the entire time, but something made him fix his entire gaze on me. I motioned for the dean to leave the room, not knowing how he would respond to the information that "she was two weeks pregnant, so you know she lost it; I didn't tell her about this or anybody else." I apologize. She is now awake.

Ahad was quick to disguise his feelings and merely hummed as if the news didn't affect him at all, but I know his hard heart was strongly affected

"her family is meeting her now, Alhamdulillah she is out of any danger"

AFREEN POV

"afreen" My eyes widened as I heard my mother's voice, and I held her as if there was no tomorrow; I was so relieved to have my parents in front of me. that I felt much better immediately, The door opened again, and Ahad entered, he sharply gazed my soul while remaining calm. My father spoke, drawing our attention to him. "I'll never be able to forgive myself for leaving my daughter with someone like you, but I've come to make amends. My daughter will be accompanying me, and you will divorce her. EXIT THE DISCUSSION"

He looked firm with his decision as no power on earth can change it however as much I know ahad he wouldn't let this happen "I'm not a tolerating man either, the reason I called you here was to make my wife feel better you can surly stay with her here as she'll be discharged in 2 days but than she'll go to her house and this is not up for discussion anyway."

"you think I'll depend on a local goons hospital report, I'll take her to a better hospital for now get the hell out of my sight"

"enough, I don't want my wife to take more tension so stop shouting or leave"

I was stunned hearing his comeback he doesn't give a damn about me and all of a sudden he know cares for my mental peace. My mother on the other hand sensed something which I obviously couldn't as I tried to speak in between she motioned me no to and said something to dad, I had no clue what she said but dad listened to her and left the room with her. "I brought something for you, let me get it from the car"

My back was aching so I shifted my position, ahad started coming close to me "I don't need your help" though I was in great pain but ended up changing my position without his help, he bent putting his palm on my head, checking my temperature "you don't get fever after running into an accident" I slapped his hand away, mocking him. I folded my hands on my chest and started looking around. Ahad didn't say a word and just kept staring at me. I coughed and as if sensing my thoughts he picked up the glass bringing it close to my mouth. "ahad I don't need assistance okay?" I tried taking the glass from his hand but the sudden movement in my hand made my shriek in pain.

"can you not do this right now, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of you but all you are doing is making this task hard" he held my neck lightly and gazed me to open my mouth "I can drink the water besides I want to go with them, because if I stay with you I'll never recover as your face will keep reminding me what a devil you are and how many ways have you wounded me"

"Drink," he ordered. I gave him the same look, determined not to give up, but just then my sister entered the room. "Ahad move, what will she think?" I whispered humbly, taking his hand off my back, but he wouldn't let it go.

"you are drinking this or should I kiss you to open your mouth" he replied back

"are you crazy my sister is standing behind" he gave me I don't care look "okay I'm drinking but for god sake move" he didn't listen and started coming close to my face, too close for my liking "okay" I said giving in, he made me drink water and started patting my back as if I'm a kid "I'm not a kid" but to me utter disgust I burped. "I know your body better" he kissed my forehead and moved away.

He went to the sofa and picked up my reports, I couldn't hate him more, my sister was looking at me happily, making me embarrassed. She sat on my bed "someone is blushing"

"are you crazy why would I, why the heck are you smiling he's the same guy that kidnapped you"

"nah! It was edited, I was chilling in his huge library" I frowned at her reply, she laid on the hospital bed "still he is -----" ahad interrupted "excuse me, I think this bed is for my wife and she needs space so can you sit on the chair and not sleep on the bed"

"can you mind your business and leave the room, I want privacy"

"I'm speaking to my sister in law, can you mind your business"

"she is my sister and has no relation with you whatsoever now leave" surprisingly Alize listened to her and got up.

"great now you can continue with your conversation" he removed his coat placing it neatly on the sofa "I have some work, if you need anything zarnab is outside"

"I didn't ask where are you going and I don't want that shameless girl around me either"

"I'll be back in 30 min" I angrily looked at him "I'm telling to the walls, they wanted to know" he smiled.

"broh, I need the ---" Alize answered

"no you don't need anything" I shouted

"Alize do one thing let the semi mental and spoiled patient stay here and whatever you want go to the counter and tell your Ahad's Sister in Law"

I sighed "tum chup chap yahan beth jao aur tum dafa ho" (you sit here silently and you get lost)

Alize laughed and obeyed me, and ahad left the room.

What has gotten into Alize?
