Kirishima feels something slimy and soft in his throat. He chokes on it for a moment before successfully coughing it up. It was a rose petal? Upon further inspection. The rose petal had little splotches of red liquid on them. A liquid he hoped was not his blood.
What's happening to me? Kirishima thinks worriedly. I shouldn't tell anybody I don't want them to worry about me. Kirishima tucks the petal into his pocket and wipes the blood off his lips with his sleeve.
He looks up to see that everyone is staring at him strangely. Mina approaches him with a look of concern on her face while his other friends gather behind her, whispering to each other. "Are you okay, Kiri?" Mina asks, concerned for her best friend. Luckily for Krishima, they hadn't seen the petal fly out of his mouth.
"Yeah... I'm just gonna go." He didn't know why, but seeing Bakugo kiss that girl made him upset and tears threatened to fall down his cheeks. He sprinted from the arcade and a few tears fell from his cheeks.
What is wrong with me?

Kirishima ran back to the dormitory. He coughed up a few more petals along the way. He sprinted through the common room and up the stair case, through the hallway and into his dorm room. He shut the door and locked it behind him, falling to the floor and coughing up maybe one or two petals.
His eyes watered with pain as more petals attempted to fall from his mouth. He squirmed on the ground, the small amount of petals clumping together in his throat from him.
What is this? What's happening? Kirishima thought in a panic.
"Oh god oh god oh god," Kirishima says to himself. His face turns white and sweat drips from his forehead. He clutches his chest and covers his mouth with one hand. He starts to feel dizzy and light-headed, the petals still trying to come out of him. This can't be real. Kirishima's breathing speeds up as he frantically tries to stop coughingHe reaches his hands down his throat, trying to stop them from coming out. What if I choke?
Eventually, the coughing fit stopped. And he thought to look it up on the internet. Why am I coughing up petals? He types into his phone.
Hanahaki Disease is a disease where someone begins coughing up flower petals because they have unrequited feelings for someone. The flowers can grow in the stomach, lungs, or heart, though it is traditionally in the lungs. Hanahaki Disease is a painful, slow disease that often develops over months, if not years, and begins with coughing up a few petals, and grows in intensity and pain until the victim is coughing up entire flowers, at which point the disease has reached its final stages. If not treated, the disease is fatal. (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HanahakiDisease )
What?! No... no, no, no! Kirishima thinks frantically. I am not dying. I won't die. I'm not ready. Kirishima's eyes widen in terror. He starts to cry. He's not ready to die. He's only sixteen. Why is this happening to him?
Time skip because I'm the author and I can do whatever the fuck I want😻
A few weeks later, Kirishima was trying desperately to seem normal at school. However, he would occasionally sprint out of the classroom in order to cough into a trash can. One day when he was in his dorm, he had a particularly bloody coughing fit.
