John arrives outside Dr Peterson's surgery with Chris. He pauses and looks troubled
Chris - Are we going in then or not?
John - No i've changed my mind i don't think you should see the doctor at all
Chris looks angry
Chris - But Mr Ferguson you said i could have something to make me high. I've been bleeding well looking forward to it
John grabs Chris by the arm and marches back along the corridor with him
John - Well i've changed my mind see. Why should a scum bag like you be allowed to get high and feel good? Everyday in here should be a miserable experience for you
Chris - Its not bleeding fair! You strung me along
John - Just shut up Latham!
Mark is in his cell when Jill walks in
Jill - You have to go to court tomorrow
Mark - Yes mum i know
Jill - You have to try your best to be remorseful for the judge
Mark - Why should i? I don't feel any remorse
Jill - Yes but you have to pretend. You'll get a lighter sentence that way. Will you do it son? I can't stand the thought of you spending years in here
Mark - What's the big deal anyway? He didn't die did he?
Jill - No but the charge of GBH is still very serious. You could get up to 10 years
Mark looks horrified and scared
Mark - 10 years?
Jill - Yes son that's why its important to act remorseful for the judge and try and get leniency. Will you do it please?
Mark looks terrified
Mark - Yes i'll try. Oh my god mum i'm scared. i don't want 10 years in here
Jill comforts her boy
Jill - 10 years is only the maximum its not mandatory. You can get a much lighter sentence if only you'll convince the judge you are sorry
Mark is crying
Mark - But mum he was bullying me for being gay. He was making my life hell mum
Jill - I know darling and i'm sorry no one listened or helped you. But you still stabbed him and in the eyes of the law you have to pay for it.. Whether its fair or not its the way it is. You have to play the game as best you can for yourself
John is having a coffee in the staff room when an irate looking Kath walks in
Kath - And what happened today? I waited for you to bring Latham as arranged
John - I changed my mind on that Kath
Kath looks pissed off
Kath - Oh really, well it would have been nice if you had told me instead of wasting my time
John - Yes i'm sorry
Kath - Well i still want to be paid
John - What for? you did nothing
