Michael's PoV:
I close the door and realise everything I could have said to her. I could have told her I would completely understand her if she wanted a rest from me or anything of the sort.
I go to the kitchen, as I said I would. I notice Kevin in the dining section of the kitchen, watching something on his phone. I know that he is watching something because he has his phone horizontally. Kevin swiftly swivels on his bar stool to face me as soon as he spots me. He places his phone on the marble counter, where his forearms had been resting. His expression turns professional.
"Good evening!" He grins at me, bobbing his head forward in a respectful manner. I reciprocate the greeting before sitting on a bar stool next to him. He asks if I want anything to drink, hot or cold, and then asks about Hannah. I tell him she is having her stuff sorted in her new room. He seems very happy for her, as do I. I tell him I will make a hot drink for Hannah and myself once she returns. I thank him once more for the excellent meals he cooked for us today. How could I not?
We start a discussion about no topic in general - just chatting. Which I enjoy! Kevin is a rather interesting person, as I have come to realise. He tells me that his grandma inspired him to start cooking and making food and that she has been his idol ever since. Before I know it, Hannah comes back with Alice.
Hannah's PoV:
"Good evening, Hannah! And," Kevin greets me and lingers on before saying anything to Alice.
"Alice," The lady smiles at Kevin.
"Nice to meet you, Alice! My name is Kevin," He respectfully nods at her, grinning. She reciprocates the greeting, continuing to smile. I also say hi back, waving my hand at him.
"Is everything okay?" Michael asks the both of us. We exchange nods and then turn to face Michael, nodding at him, the both of us. Alice is such a cool, quirky, and funny person, and I am so glad I got to meet her! She is like everything I love about my sisters combined into one person! I can't actually explain it!
She said she could be my maid for as long as I stayed if I wanted after we set up my stuff to where it belongs, which is an offer I accepted without hesitation, without even thinking about it - in a heartbeat. Like seriously, I like her a lot! I believe she was meant to be my maid when she arrived to help me get organised, but she asked to confirm if I wanted her to be a maid for me. Am I even saying it right? To be a maid for me? It sounds so weird saying it like that in my head. I guess this is the life I will have to get used to now - which is a thought that hasn't yet sunk in, but I feel sinking in. Funnily enough, Alice explained most of what I had just thought about in my mind, all of the parts that needed to be mentioned, to Michael and Kevin.
"Well, I can leave you with Hannah now! If you're okay with that! Just call me if you need anything before ten!" Kevin speaks to Michael in a thoughtful tone. Michael confirms his exit with a nod but clarifies that he doesn't mean it rudely - that he's validating Kevin's leave. Kevin doesn't seem to take it to heart. Alice waits for Kevin to leave the kitchen, probably going to his room. Michael can probably call him; he likely has his phone number.
"Would you like me to help you with anything?" Alice asks gradually, with what seems to be a heartfelt smile, her gaze shifting between Michael and me. Michael, ever polite, assures her that we don't need her help anymore, expressing his gratitude for her assistance. I, too, acknowledged her presence, showing my appreciation for the kind lady's help. She kindly offered me her number with which I could contact her. She emphasised that I could reach out if I needed anything during my stay, saying she could come and help me with whatever because she would be in this apartment for as long as I was here. I meet her gaze with a warm smile, hoping to leave a positive first impression from this encounter. And then, shortly after, Alice departs to her room.
