So basically it's like an alternative universe, the RED team and the BLU team, they don't have normal battles so it's almost like a war, but the BLU team has advantage because they make robots. And also there's no respawning (the engies are still working on making it possible) TvT
BLU team: BLU team first started with only Johnathan (aka that crazy soldier) and an anonymous leader, then Liam (engineer) joined the team, followed by Ludwig (Medic) and Laurence (Spy) the whole group continued to improve robots and the facilities until William (scout) and Lance (spy) came.
William became the new leader, he was very cold and usually expressionless, Ludwig then left the group from how controlling it was and changed to the RED team, now being the leader. After a few weeks Laurence left to go to the RED team as well. Then Anton (medic) Trish (Demoman) joined the team, followed by Volkov (heavy) and lastly Johnathan left.
RED team: RED team was formed by a single leader, a Soldier, then after Ludwig joined they helped each other improve the group, making it less controlling unlike the BLU. The team was then joined by multiple mercenaries which consists of Josef (medic), Mikhail (heavy) Tavish (Demoman) Mundy (Sniper) Laurence, Jeremy (scout) and Pyro. The team lived in peace until the BLU team wanted to test out their new robots which ended up killing most of the mercenaries excluding the names mentioned. The RED team then improved to be able to improvise to fighting the robots.

Medic
Anton Stein was born in Frankfurt, Germany. He used to live with his parents and a younger brother, Hans. Unfortunately when Hans was five his parents died, leaving Anton alone with Hans. Anton both went to school and did part time jobs to pay for his and his brother's bills. He has a long distance aunt that comes to check on him and Hans every month, including providing them money and food. Anton is very protective of Hans, which made him decide to learn at a shooting range, giving him the skills of using a gun.
One day, his brother Hans who is now seven years old, asked Anton to go play outside with him, Anton who had just started working as a medic is always busy, so he brushes it off and told Hans to go by himself, unfortunately that would be his biggest mistake he had ever done, Hans got hit by a truck while playing near the road and died. Anton felt extremely guilty, blaming himself for ignoring his brother and not taking care of him, which led him to depression. After a while Anton finally recovered from his depression but still now has a big fear of losing someone he loves,
Anton is now a very caring person who is obsessive with people and overprotective for them, getting rejected and saying no to makes him feel horrible. After Anton had joined the mercenary team he got more obsessive over time, wanting his teammates to be safe at all cost, but he soon learnt to tone his obsessiveness down a little bit so that his clinginess won't drive people away.
