Sunoo was being unreasonable. He knew he was being unreasonable but he couldn't shake the thought, no matter how hard he tried.
He knows Niki loves him, it's undeniable, it's just that the words almost never come out of Niki's mouth and it's starting to bother him more and more.
Sunoo had always been quite expressive. He was bubbly and outgoing, regularly making new friends. He developed relationships with people quickly and always made sure they knew how important they were to him in any way that he could.
Now, don't get it wrong, he doesn't just throw out the words I love you to anyone who will listen. He's actually picky about who he says it too, knowing that it's something special that shouldn't be taken lightly. However, once he says it once, he says it all the time.
Before either of them leave for work, Sunoo yells an I love you from the bathroom or as a whisper against Niki's lips before they part.
I love you is almost always the first thing Niki hears as he wakes up or as he's falling asleep.
To sum it up, it's a regular part of Sunoo's vocabulary when he's with him, but it's a bit different for Niki.
Early on in their relationship, Niki had mentioned that Japanese people don't directly say I love you often. It's seen as very special, only used in specific or important circumstances. Even so, it doesn't mean that they don't express their love, it simply comes out in different ways.
