From Despair

Paddlepop invites you to meet his *adoptive family* and friends. His parents are a pair of short otters, and his friends are a chameleon and a hedgehog. He also has an uncle who is an owl.It's strange to see a group of creatures like that, especially when there are no humans except you. And yet... They seem so peaceful, and a sense of curiosity begins to emerge in your mind.

"So, how did you all end up here?" you ask. They seem hesitant. You suppose they haven't encountered other humans before. Or perhaps they did... but there are no humans around anymore. You sigh sadly. Maybe you shouldn't be here.Suddenly, Paddlepop speaks up. 

"It's okay to ask," he says, his voice soft. "You'll be fine." His words calm you down a bit. Your eyes continue to scan the area. There's something soothing about him. Before you can say something, your eyes catch a glint out of the corner of your eye. You lift your head, and you see the moonlight emerging from behind the clouds, illuminating everything around, making it appear almost mystical. The three of them join in, staring at the moon. After a moment, your gaze lands on their faces.

"How about you sleep at our house? I know we just met, but that's not a problem for us." He offers. You nod in reply. With that, they escort you to their home and sit on the edge of the yard. You curl up next to Paddlepop, hoping he won't notice your nervousness in his presence. As you lie there quietly, listening to the night sounds, a feeling of tranquility slowly fills you, like a warm breeze blowing gently through your hair. 

This isn't an unfamiliar feeling. 'I really am trapped in this world, huh...' you whisper to yourself. Before you know it, your eyelids begin to droop. The last thing you remember is feeling warmth surround you before darkness consumes you.

You jolt awake as you hear panicked screams from outside; the sun has already risen. You rush to the door, and you see several bat-like monsters breathing fire at the trees, causing destruction in the nearby forest. You see a woman standing below the monsters and chanting dark spells, strange! This woman is not in the movie. The woman's form is similar to the shadow master, but for some reason... there's something that makes her seem human. You direct your eyes to the middle of the forest and see PaddlePop lying on the ground, and a hooded figure - Rex - taking the necklace he wears.
