The Inventor of The Game
Chapter 2
Kearen's POV
I don't wake up this morning. Well most morning’s I don’t wake up. I’m already awake. I can’t sleep at night. The vivid images that go through my mind while my eyes are closed are unbearable. I would relive the worst moment of my life, and I don’t want that. I never wanted that. I would be selfish if I did. A horrible person, at that.
I'm already ready for school all I need to do is make sure Hailey and Gesell were. Hailey is already awake, and in the shower. Gesell's still asleep.
I shake her lightly. “Guess, wake up it’s time for school.” I say lightley.
She groans and shifts a little before opening her eyes. She looks at me with those striking blue eyes of hers. “I don’t want to go.” She whispers.
I look at her sadly. “I know, but you have to go, okay?”
She nodded. As she sits up in bed she rubs her face, as if trying to make the sleepiness go away.
“You ready?” She nods. I pick her up and carry her to the bathroom to take her a bath. Gesell's four, but she might as well have been seven. The kid’s smarter then Einstein.
When I was done taking her a bath I dress her in a pink and white dress. She grimace at my choice, but let me put it on her nonetheless. I then brush through her golden brown hair, then put it in a high pony tail.
“You’re all done.” I tell her.
She turns around and gives me a high five. “We’re ready for business, boss.” She said in a childish voice.
We go downstairs to find Hailey cooking breakfast. She turns around upon our entrance, frowning once she sees me.
“You can’t keep doing this Kear. You’ll kill yourself. You need to sleep.” She said disapprovingly.
“I thought I was the big brother,” I joked, ruffling her hair.
“Ha, funny. I’m being serious, you’ll go crazy with sleep deprivation.” Her face turned sad when she said that.
“I’ll be fine.” I reassured her.
“We need you.” she states.
I sigh, “I know and I’m trying my best, okay? I may not be doing everything correct, but I’m trying. That’s worth for something.” I stood in front of her holding onto both her shoulders.
“You need to try harder.” And at that she walks back upstairs to finish getting ready.

We make it to Gesell’s school fifteen minuets later. I walk her into the school building, and to class. I stop her before she goes in.
“Guess, I need you to behave today. I can’t miss another day of work because you put glue in Max Zaher’s hair. So do me a favor and be nice.”
“But he said that my macaroni person looked like a giraffe.” She whines.
“No, buts. Just please be nice.” I plead giving her my best puppy dog face.
She giggles and attacks me in a hug, a hug that I return. “Okay.”
“You promise?” My voice was muffled by her hair.
“I promise.”
“Good now give me a kiss.” She squeals as I kiss her all over the face.
