"Please leave me alone," Mark screamed, being chased in a forest. you could hear every twig cracking in the distance. so frightened he slipped causing the killer to catch up.
Mark begins to beg for his life "please, I'm sorry. I'll never step into this forest again."
~labored manic breathing begins~
The murderer speaks in a slow deep concealed voice "I must feed", as he rips his organs out and steals his face.
"Are you serious?" "I must feed," I say in a mocking voice. the group lets out a chuckle.
"worst story ever" "ITS REAL SOFIA" my friend Alexander says in a concerned voice. "Mark's disappearance isn't because of his falling out with his parents. He is dead, you have to believe me." "How about you shut up?" said Nylah, a friend in our group who barely speaks.
"if you're so concerned about Mark and his falling out why don't you go investigate the forest and look for the body"
I began to laugh, "Why don't we all go?" I say with a evil grin on my face. The group unanimously agreed. "NO, I'm not going to that forest," said alexander. "you're such a loser. THERE. IS. NO. FOREST MURDER." said nylah. "I'm all in! this will be fun, " said omar.
you can see the chills ripple down his spine "fine i'll go. but everyone stays close." says a shaking voice alexander.
we all begin to pack a bag. I pack a flashlight, an energy bar, a water bottle and my dads glock-19. "check this out nylah" i say pointing the gun at my head with my tongue out. they both giggle.
nylah proceeds to pack nothing, staring back at me saying "if i get thirsty, im stealing your water"
Alexander packs a cross, and some water.
he begins to pant, everyone stares rolling their eyes and shrugging their shoulders.
Omar packs a flashlight, and his camera.
"Is everyone ready?"
you hear a unanimous "yes" as the group of teenagers go on their way.
They arrive at the road surrounded by the forest. When we finally reach the middle, I see Alexander's anxiety take him over. i say
"what was that" striking even more fear in Alexander's chest.
"what was what?" Alexander said in an anxious voice. "BOO" screams nylah.
"AHHHHHHHHH" as alexander runs off in the direction we came. I roll my eyes hearing leaves rattle in the opposite direction alexander came from. "WHO'S THERE" yelled omar. nylah takes a step back. "guys, chill out, it's probably just an animal." we begin to hear steps in the distance. I pull my handgun out, checking the mag and turning the safety off. Omar turns on his camera as more leaves shake and twigs begin to crack. "I've got a gun!" I say as fear starts corroding my body. I feel a breeze causing me to become dizzy. i begin to hallucinate.
~panting~
"Huh," I say , confused as a creature wearing Mark's face approaches.
dazed and confused, I aimed my gun "I must feed" , opening his mouth. "not on me." I shout , pulling the trigger, blood gushing all over me.
and I faint.
~meanwhile~
Alexander finally makes it to the road and he hears shouting and a gunshot in the distance. He pulls his cross out making a complete U turn sprinting towards the direction of the noise. "what am i doing?... oh my lord... please be alive." He whispers to himself. "WHERE ARE YOU GUYS" he shouts. "PLEASE. WAKE UP. " cried nylah.
Alexander reaches the group, opening his exhausted eyes to the corpse of Omar, seeing the bullet hole right through his brain. He drops his cross falling to his knees, "what happened? Where is sophia? niyah points to a bloody faced woman who was tied up to a tree. Alexander couldn't make out my face. "Is that the killer?" lifting up my face, "OH?" "SOFIA IS THE KILLER?" "i. don't. know." said a tear faced niyah.
they could hear more twigs cracking in the distance, but niyah didn't care anymore. niyah feels a cool breeze down her neck, causing the same dizziness I had felt. she begins to hallucinate. seeing two alexander's both giving her a decision.
"Come with me" they say simultaneously.
falling to her knees seeing the radiance of the cross from the real alexander. "Alexander gave me the cross" , rapidly pulling out the cross , but it was already too late. the hallucination of the killer begins to fade. the killer begins to charge at niyah grabbing her by the foot. pulling her into the darkness. "NIYAH? NOOOO" screamed alexander. suffering and agony in the distance as niyah is being eaten.
holding a tight grip on his cross, shaking me till I awoke. "I GOT HIM" saying it confidently then taking a gaze at Omar's corpse. "woah..." Alexander begins to untie me. "I'll explain later, right now we need to go" we ran in the direction, we'd assume that was a way back to the road. "HEY DID I KILL OMAR" I said in fear. "yes." Alexander responded with a tear falling down his eyes. growing exhausted and lost in the forest. We found a lodge. approaching the door knocking, but it was open. confused as we walk in seeing old animal skulls and other satanic rituals. "Alex, I don't like this." I said.
alexander picking up a book reading the face stealer "hey come look at this" we flip through the pages reading about the killer's information "jake brewer" "demon" "cannibal"
"wears faces" "only one can banish' ' we notice that this handwriting was mark's, finding his name on one of the pages. "i think mark was studying this killer." we flip near the end of the book where it reads "banish the killer with a cross and chanting the word escape 3 times, but be aware every new year the demon is summoned again. we gaze at each other "This is it! WE DO THIS AND IT'S ALL OVER '' i say.
we hear wrestling in the bushes outside "feed." said Jake the demon. I reached for my dads gun when I realized I left it behind when we ran away. "Oh no" I began to cry. Alexander stares at his cross holding it upwards. "Come on, we can do this." he races outside. my tear ridden face changed to stunned, alexander looked so fearless. I follow. as he screams "HEY UGLY. COME AND GET ME"
Jake begins to chant "feed, feed, feed" rushing towards alexander. "ESCAPE." he yelled, holding up his cross. as smoke emerged from his demon like skin. Mark's face begins to tear off, revealing the demon's scarred facial features.
I was scared but I had to do something, so I grabbed the cross from Alexander's hand, and screamed "ESCAPE" but it had no effect.
~main character merge from sofia to alexander~
Sofia chanted again, "ESCA-" the demon had run at an unimaginable speed ripping and eating Sophia's head. , and a wave of fear conquered my body. I was stuck, watching as my final friend's body dropped. "i think about the words before "only one can banish"
"NOOOOOOOOO" i screamed and cried. i sprint to the cross and yell " ESCAPE" as tears flood my face. "YOU'LL PAY" letting my emotions tear me apart, i sprint towards jake shoving the cross in his face he falls and i hold it one last time. "ESCAPE." falling to my knees as the demon begins crumbling to ashes. "sofia" my nose sniffled. "it's over." "omar" "niyah." "mark" guys it's over.
~2 months later~
*news report*
"We are here with the only survivor, Alexander james. Can you describe what the killer looked like? Can you make any comments on what's going on? Do you have any information on if the demon had any other plans? Do you think there are more?"
I responded with, "no more questions."
