Testing Grounds
Prologue
(kinda)In a valley, mountains and dark green pines cover the entire horizon, trees painted all over the area creating forests everywhere in sight except inside the middle of this valley. There lies a large area of tall grass with tiny flowers placed here and there, there's a flattened area in the grass field. In the area is a figure moving rapidly, they're shooting glowing, near paper thin disks around in a flatted area of the field with their hands. Currently, in the area lies a few books on the side and the surrounding air has flying pieces of greenery swept up by the gentle wind of the skies.
The figure suddenly stops and breathes the cool air before spinning to pick up one of the few books on the floor. One book in question is shown to be a worn notebook with scratched black writing on the cover, the person-like monster flips their fingerless gloves through it to the middle and stops on a page.
He takes an old green tinted pen wrapped in scotch tape from his large, olive and grey-patterned sweater jacket and clicks it once to write down on the notebook. The top of the page titled "Progress" with his name on the top corner of the cover, "Enaic". With a hum and a whisper Enaic then flips even further in the notebook to a page with a series of grouped numbers. The groups of numbers reaching to the hundred thousands, Enaic's pen lands on a empty slot near the end of the page as look at the number above the empty area
Enaic smiles wider at the empty slot his visor picks up, looking at the number above it with confidence, amusement donning his visible features, he chuckles, "Heh heh heh, time for a new record" He snaps the book close and saves the page, tossing the notebook to the side and begins to stretch his arms out, "have to get more than at least eighty, that practice should be enough of a warm up".
With a shake of his hands he adjusts his visor by habit, it's wrapped around his head and covers his eyes like a wide blindfold, there's a single solid screen around his eyes. It's a bit clunky but it has a stationery upside down heart-shaped projection in it.
He looks around the area and begins to study the landscape intently. The winds going slightly slower, the blown grass finally landing, and flowers still swaying, Enaic's confidence is seen clearly in his body language.
He nods, having found what he's looking for and he starts shaking his jacket, dusting off imaginary dust and dirt in preparation. With a wide grin he raises his arms and begins twirling in a slow spin, with his arms out he opens his hands like it's running against something. rapidly in quick succession thousands and thousands of those thin flat disks fill the sky with more appearing each second. Soon the sky starts turning grey, the same terrain changing, the mountains, the grass, leaves of trees, it covers the blue sky like if a bad storm happened and grey raindrops stopped mid-fall with new ones still adding to the expansive sky, making it more and more odd to look at. In the clearing where Enaic lays he finishes his spin and takes a moment to ponder, he estimates the amount of portals he made as the sky now looks like an abstract painting, splattered spots everywhere, carelessly inconsistent with their work but it looks beautiful anyways.
