Hirai Masumi pulled away slightly, her brow furrowed in thought. "I don't want to hurt anyone either," she repeated. "But I can't deny the way I feel about Arima Kou. He's been there for me when no one else has."
Toyoda Takeshi sighed, understanding her dilemma. "I know, Hirai Masumi. It's not easy for any of us." He paused, taking a deep breath. "But maybe there's a way for all of us to be together. We can talk to Arima, try to figure out how we can make this work."
Hirai Masumi looked up at him, hope blooming in her heart. "Really?" she asked, her voice trembling. "You mean, you wouldn't mind sharing me with Arima?"
Toyoda Takeshi smiled gently. "Of course not, Hirai Masumi," he said, his eyes filled with sincerity. "I know how much you care for him, and I understand that he's been there for you when I haven't. I'm not selfish; I just want you to be happy, no matter what that means."
Hirai Masumi looked into Toyoda Takeshi's eyes, feeling a surge of love and gratitude for him. "Thank you, Toyoda Takeshi," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Toyoda Takeshi smiled gently, his eyes filled with warmth. "You're welcome, Hirai Masumi," he replied, his voice soft and reassuring. "I know it's not easy for any of us, but we'll figure it out together."
Hirai Masumi returned his smile, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that what they were discussing was far from ideal, but the fact that they could at least talk about it openly filled her with hope. "I really do care about Arima Kou," she said, her voice barely audible. "I don't want to hurt him, but I also don't want to lose you."
Toyoda Takeshi took her hand in his once again, squeezing it gently. "I understand, Hirai Masumi," he said. "We'll talk to Arima together and see where things go from there."
The next day, Hirai Masumi and Toyoda Takeshi approached Arima Kou together to discuss the complicated situation. Arima Kou was surprised but willing to hear them out.
Hirai Masumi explained that while she still had feelings for Toyoda Takeshi, she also cared deeply for Arima Kou and didn't want to lose him either. She proposed trying an unconventional solution - that the three of them explore a polyamorous relationship together.
Arima Kou was taken aback by this suggestion at first. He had never considered such an arrangement before. But after thinking it over, he realized he loved Hirai Masumi enough to try it if it meant they could still be together. Toyoda Takeshi reiterated he just wanted Hirai Masumi to be happy.
The three of them agreed to take things slowly and communicate openly as they navigated this new dynamic. There were awkward moments and complicated emotions to work through. But in time, they settled into a comfortable routine and found their unique balance as a trio.
