Little Miss K

Little Miss K was never a brat growing up
She was raised by her older sister while her mommy and daddy worked
She would always play at the park with the kids her age
They called her beautiful
They would crowd around her and treat her like a princess
The boys would blush
The girls would flatter
Everyone adored Little Miss K

One day her sister went away to hang out with a friend and never came back
And her mommy and daddy started working even more
Little Miss K was all alone
Except for when she'd go out to play
She'd sit on the slide and watch the other kids
As they enjoyed their time outside
In her head, she felt like a princess
She was loved by everyone
And everyone did what she said

One day while watching the other kids play
She noticed a boy playing on the monkey bars
He was hanging from his knees, swinging back and forth.
She couldn't help but giggle at the boy's behavior.
The next day, she sat next to the monkey bars
Taking with the boy as he played

Little Miss K didn't know it back then
But she had grown to like the boy
Every day they'd go out to play
And he would play on the bars
While she talked to him and giggled
One day, it had rained the night before
And the playground was soaked
Nevertheless, the kids went out to play

Excited, Little Miss K walked up to the boy, hanging upside down once more
Suddenly, the boy lost his grip
And slipped off the bars
Little Miss K was shocked
She scrambled to her feet to try and catch the boy
But before he could hit the ground
He began to float in place

All of the kids stopped playing at once
Crowding around the monkey bars
Confused
Little Miss K was confused too
One of the kids shouted from the crowd
"Look! Her eyes!"
And everyone followed the finger pointing at Little Miss K

Her eyes were stark
Black
And glossed
And her nose began to bleed a thin dark red

The floating boy turned and screamed
And the other kids gasped and ran

The boy hit the ground and turned to run
But Little Miss K grabbed his arm
"What's happening? Why are you scared?"
But the boy just pushed her away and yelled for his mommy.

Little Miss K was alone for an hour
Waiting for her dad to pick her up
During the wait she heard the other kids crying to their parents
"She had no eyes!"
"She made him float!'
"She's so weird!"
