A knock on the front door caused me to groan and roll off the sofa. I dragged myself to my feet, my muscles protesting from the sudden movement. With a heavy sigh, I shuffled towards the door. I had fallen asleep while watching a movie marathon. When I opened the door, I was greeted by a petite woman with striking golden eyes and a worried look on her face. Her pixie-like features and graceful demeanour gave her an ethereal aura. She spoke softly, her voice carrying a hint of urgency. "I'm sorry to disturb you, but is Bella home?"

I shook my head, still groggy from my nap, and replied, "No, Bella isn't home right now. Is there something I can help you with?" The woman's worried expression deepened as she asked to come inside after explaining that she was a friend of Bellas.

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether to let a stranger into my home. However, her genuine concern and mention of being Bella's friend helped my nerves. I opened the door wider and gestured for her to come in, hoping that she would find the answers she was looking for. "Did something happen? Why do you look so worried?" I asked, trying to calm my own growing unease.

Before I could get an answer from her, she walked up to the door as Bella walked in. I watched as Bella embraced the petite woman, who I now know is Alice, looking rather relieved to see her. "I'm sorry, I just can't believe you're here," Bella said, tears forming in her eyes.

"what's happening?" I asked, though my question went unanswered. Alice and Bella seemed caught up in their own emotional exchange, leaving me feeling even more confused and left out.

"Would you like to explain to me how you're alive?" Alice's voice quivered with a mix of relief and curiosity. I couldn't see Alice's facial expression because her back was to me, but even so, her question just created more confusion for me.

The look on Bella's face was disbelief as she looked at Alice. "What?" I couldn't help but feel a surge of anxiety as I desperately tried to make sense of their cryptic conversation. It was clear that something significant had happened, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.

"I saw a vision of you. You jumped off a cliff." There was a short pause. "Why in the hell would you try and kill yourself?" Alice's voice rose. "I mean, what about Charlie? What about?" She was cut off by Bell, as she stated she didn't try to kill herself.

"I was cliff jumping," Bella said quickly, "recreationally. It was fun," though when she said it was fun, she didn't sound like she was convinced herself, but she gave Alice a small, reassuring smile.

I huffed before walking away. I was just ignored by them, and I no longer felt the need to stick around. I walked into the kitchen and got myself a glass of water. "Visions? Cliff Jumping? What the fuck is happening?" I muttered to myself. As I took a sip of water, I couldn't help but feel a mix of confusion and concern. Bella's explanation seemed far-fetched, and Alice's mention of visions only added to the growing sense of unease. Something was definitely not adding up, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this story than meets the eye.

It wasn't long before I heard Alice's voice from the living room: "Bella! Werewolves are not good company to keep." Every bit of my night so far has been extremely confusing. I walked into the room with them, and as I did, I could see Alice standing and facing Jacob. I didn't know him well, but I've seen him, and occasionally I've said hi to him.

"I had to see you were safe," Jacob said as he looked at Bella, who was sitting on the sofa, and turned to look at both of her friends. I stayed off to the side; they didn't seem to care about me hearing any bit of their conversation.

"I thought you couldn't protect me here," Bella said, though in response, Jacob replied, "Guess I don't care."

"Well, I'm not gonna hurt her," Alice said defensively. Jacob looked unimpressed at her statement.
