"Why would you do that, you idiot?!" The man says with anger in his words
"I don't know what I did, I promise!" The other man says with distress in his voice
"LIAR!"
"No, I'm not lying, I promise!"
Alarms blaring in the background as the room is lit by the ominous red alarm lights fading in and out.
"You clearly have done something!"
"No, I haven't. I promise, I don't know what is happening!"
"You are an utterly useless assistant!"
"I'm sorry I truly are. Please just spare me my position!" The assistant said in a pleasing tone.
"Let's just get out of here now before the building collapses or something," the man said in a harsh, nasty tone.
As the two men leave the building in a hurry, they hear a noise that sounds like someone or something trying to get out.
"What was that?" The assistant says, scared and out of breath
"How should I know! Let's just leave now!"
"But you're a scientist! Shouldn't you check it out then?""Do you want to die!?" The scientist screamed in a stressed but angry tone
As he screamed, the thing escaped, and the building started to collapse."Run," a distorted voice says, coming from the speakers echoing throughout the building.
As the two men were running out, the building collapsed at a rapid rate. They got out but not fully unharmed because of all the rubble that had landed on the ground. When the dust from the building settled, all that could be heard was the quiet sound of the alarm still on.
"This is your fault!" The scientist growled at him
"How? I don't even know what happened! The assistant says, trying to plead innocent.
"Don't play fucking stupid with me now!" The scientist yelled at the top of his lungs at the assistant beside him.
"Let's just report this to the higher-ups!" The assistant yelled trying to both change the subject.
"I guess you're right, we should'' the scientist says after calming down. "Well what is the best way to report this then? Not like I have a phone number to the higher ups, because there were only landlines to them within the building, but it's collapsed, so that's not an option."
"Isn't there any other way to contact them?" The assistant says in a worried tone
"Not that I'm fucking aware of!" The scientist yelled in a frustrated voice. As the co workers were walking, trying to figure out how to contact the higher-ups. there was someone or something lurking in the shadows eavesdropping.
Then the assistant noticed something reflective and as he reached for the reflective item he noticed it was a keycard laying near some rubble, then a fleshy tendril made itself known, panicking the assistant stumbled back and fell on the ground."What is that!?" The assistant shouted in confusion.
"I don't know, just try to get away from it" the scientist yelled
The assistant, scared, tried to push himself away from it and kicked so some dirt went up in the air, at the same time as he was trying to get away he tried to throw rocks at it. The scientist runs up to the assistant and pulls him up to his feet, and pulls him away.
"James, are you okay?!" The scientist yelled"Yeah, I'm okay. I think," James said breathless
"That's a relief," the scientist sighed
James stood there for a minute, trying to understand what just happened. Then he remembered that he found a keycard, he felt around in his pockets and started to panic because he didn't feel it. He looks for it on the ground for a bit.
"What's wrong? What are you looking for?" The scientist asked, worried
"Before that thing appeared, I found a keycard, but now I can't find it," James said looking at the scientist concerned
"Okay, we should probably find it" the scientist said.
The two of them looked for a few a while to find it, but they did not find it.
"I don't think we're going to find it, Dr. Miller, " James said, disappointed
"You're probably right," Dr. Miller said, agreeing
They gave up looking for the keycard and walked away and hopped that a high-up would find out what happened.
