Quicksand

The sudden situation in Tianyu Star caught everyone off guard. The mutation happened in an instant, and no one anticipated that the anomaly would deteriorate to this extent.

The management bureau was conducting an emergency meeting. The completely collapsed detection system could no longer gather information from inside Tianyu Star. Mecha pilots lost contact, and the communication system malfunctioned. All personnel were urgently involved in repairs.

The person in charge immediately said, "Try activating the competition-level mechas."

"The current positioning system is still functional! We have detected that the competition-level mecha system is operating normally and can locate the latest entering competition-level mechas."

"There are three teams from mecha bases entering Tianyu Star. Ten competition-level mecha positions have been detected, all in motion. There are no issues with the mecha pilots, and no reports of damaged mechas."

Competition-level mechas have a special positioning system required for the Mecha League, using the mecha's own energy. It has a close connection with the response in the polluted areas. Thanks to Tianyu Star itself being a competition-level polluted area, they could find the system used during the time of the competition amid all the collapsed systems.

During the league, this system is usually used to rescue and evacuate eliminated mechas. With positioning information, the location of the mecha can be accurately identified for quick support or rescue.

"Since the competition system is operational, let's find a way to restore emergency communication and contact others." The person in charge sighed in relief; the situation hadn't completely gone out of control. "If that's not possible, we can notify other mecha bases for assistance."

As the staff urgently corrected the system, in the process, another staff member rushed in, "Director, there's a problem. The jump system is affected and cannot perform the jump..."

The expression of the person in charge changed slightly.

The jump system is the most basic system for the management bureau and the polluted area. To prevent the polluted area from affecting other regions, each outermost part of the polluted area would have the highest protective shield of the Star Alliance. Entry and exit must be through a specially established jump teleportation system.

"Can't we open the protective shield of the polluted area?"

"It can't be canceled. In the case of a complete system collapse in the polluted area, the level 4 or above shields need the military mechas to violently dismantle. Except for the jump system, we can't enter through any other means."

The staff looked at the person in charge, "What should we do now?"

What to do? Unable to jump, and there's no way for other mecha bases to come in for help.

The pollution value in the polluted area has not reached the threshold for the highest mutation, so the highest alert cannot be activated to request military mechas to intervene. Now they could only repair the system externally, relying on the mecha pilots in the polluted area.

"Prepare the plan. Once there's a report of mecha damage, immediately report to the Star Alliance and request military mechas to intervene." The person in charge looked at the screen, sounding anxious. "Which mecha pilots are in there now?"

"We temporarily summoned ten mecha pilots before, and later, 14 from the Gale, YDS, and KID bases. There are currently 24 mecha pilots in the Tianyu Star polluted area. Ten competition-level mechas have responded, and four competition-level mechas have not responded. The other mecha pilots are driving A-level mechas, a total of ten A-level mechas."
