~Vincent's POV~

I cracked my knuckles as I zeroed in on the voices. I heard another terrifying shriek and walked faster. Although it wasn't unusual to hear ear-piercing screams on this side of town, it still phased me every time.

The sun was slowly rising up in the sky as I looked up. The bright colors of the sun shone down the alley, flooding in like a hot knife slicing through a stick of butter. The brick walls of the alley glittered as the sun reflected on the small rocks imbedded crudely in the cement cracks. Although it first glance it seemed like a peaceful and innocent scene, the sight before me sent a chilling shock down my spine.

Two larger males held a much smaller male up against the wall, their hands seeming large enough to snap his neck with merely the flick of their wrist. Their heads whipped around and they narrowed their eyes at me, eyes seeming to be boring into my very soul. I eyed a pistol on the side of one their pockets. Knowing that this was a very dangerous situation, I swallowed the lump in my throat, that familiar prickle making its way down my neck.

I always carried weapons on me. Why leave without them? They were especially good for situations like this; situations that couldn't be left with an just awkward apology and a nervous shuffle of the feet. The man trembled against the wall. He looked like he'd already begun to cry. His eyes were bloodshot red and his black hair was pushed to one side. The grease on their filthy hands must of kept it in place.

One of the men advanced towards me, fist clenched tightly. I could see the yellowing and chipping of his teeth from here. His forehead was slick with sweat, hair pulled back into a messy flat ponytail. His partner on the other hand looked clean cut. He wore a button up shirt, his hair styled almost perfectly into a dollop against his tan forehead. They were polar opposites for sure, but both carried the same stupid sneer on their faces.

I slide the knife out of my pocket, looking up at them with a deadpan face. They don't seem phased by it, but they won't be smiling for long. I run a finger along the edge of the blade, careful not to cut myself.

Let's have some fun, shall we?
