Summer love - Amour d'été

Europe, famously known for it's art, history and a peek destination for tourists. Most trips are planned and well thought out, it takes time to get time off of work and to organize nessesities you will need. In Ivy's case, it took 10 minutes whilst flicking through instagram.

(Ivy's POV)

The only way i'll ever go overseas is if it's by boat, I get plane sick to easily. I'm currently taking a gap year inbetween highschool and college, I need time to figure out what I want to do. I want to live a little before settling into a job that requires me to work 5 days a week from 9 to 5.

Over all my life is pretty boring, finished high school, worked as a waitress during my last few years of high school. Which is how I'm able to book a spontanious holliday just like this one. This cruise is perfect, it has a bar, a pool, a gym, amazing entertainment and food. What more could I possibly ask for?

I need a few months to find out who I want to be and to leave behind my stressful, chaotic life and escape. It's summer in Europe which is perfect because I'm trying to get tan for any upcoming lovers that might be coming my way. Another perk of going to Europe is that the legal age to be able to drink alcohol is 18+ which means I'M LEGAL BABY!

This all started because I pressed an add on instagram by accident. I'm not mad about it tho, it led me to my dream vacation. Every once and a while there is a europe cruise that lasts for 1 whole month. It just so happens that the dock near my house has this glorious cruise ship leaving in 1 hour. So I thought why not hop on? They say adventure is good for you and I crave it.

I pack the nessities first obviously, which include:

- A book

- Bikini's

- Sunglasses

- Sunscreen

- Summer dresses

- Toothbrush

- Perfume

- Makeup

I look over my list and decide to add some items that would make my mother proud. Such as a hat, spare clothes and other irelevant stuff i'll probably never use. I'm gonna be in a bikini most of the time anyways. 3 minutes later I'm set! I make my way out of my small 1 bedroom apartment and begin the short walk to board the cruise ship.

I make a small amount of money from posting online, I wouldn't say I'm an influencer but I'm definetly well known on instagram. I have over 800 thousand followers on instagram and I get around 1 million monthly views on my pinterest account.

A lot of people would call me self obsorbed or stuck up. Truth is, I'm just a happy, care-free, confident person. I tend to shine in the darkness, when everything around me turns to shit I thrive. Making every normal day feel like it's the best day of my life, I don't need to pretend to be happy or confident because I am naturally both.

The rest of my money comes from my mum's will, she wanted me to live comfortably for the rest of my life. She was my idol, kind, funny, talented, beautiful...She was everything I wanted to be when I grew up and now I can barely remember her voice. I inherited her money when I turned 18 a few months ago, along with a message she wrote on a card for my 18th birthday.

My love I know our time together was cut short and I've moved to a better place, however I hope you've lived. Truly lived. Had fun, made mistakes, gotten a little too drunk, traveled, been in love, been heartbroken. All of the life experiences I wish you could've experienced with me by your side, but I'm watching.
