The next morning, Heeseung went to see Jay at their office building. Heeseung walked straight into Jay's office and sat down. "Not even a hello?" Jay says as Heeseung drops the receipt on the desk. Jay sighed and opened his laptop, "Whose it for?" Heeseung looked away, "Work, from last night," he said. Jay gave him a questioning look, but continued researching the owner of the receipt. Jay's eyes widened as he saw the name pop up on the screen. Heeseung noticed Jay's reaction, "What is it? Did you find him?," Heeseung asked. Jay gave him a look, "What do you want with him?" he asked. Heeseung squinted his eyes, "He was a witness to what happened last night. I need to know what he saw." He leaned closer to Jay, "You know him, don't you?" he said with a smirk.
Jay hesitated with an answer, but finally said, "Yes, I know him.... He's my ex and one of my closest friends. Whatever you're going to do, just don't hurt him. That's all I ask." Heeseung sighed as he sat down again, "As long as he cooperates and tells me what he saw, I won't lay a finger on him... unless he asks." Jay looked like he was going to explode, "You better leave Jake unharmed, Heeseung." Heeseung got up and started to walk toward the door, "I won't hurt your little side piece, Jay; I'm just going to talk to him." He shut the door behind him and walked out of the building. Jay muttered to himself, "Fucker," and decided to go home for the day.
(one week later)
A week went by since the night of the party and the incident and nothing has happened. Jake was sitting in the courtyard after a long morning of classes, picking up his phone looking at the time realizing that it was well past noon by now. "Ow crap" he muttered as he got up from the picnic table and started putting his books and stuff away as he was studying for his physics test.
Once he had his stuff packed he headed back to the dorm where he was going to get something to eat and go back to bed. He was walking down the street listening to some light music when he heard someone call his name, he stopped but he didn't hear it so he kept going. he heard it again but it was loader, he stopped confused on who could he calling his name. He turned around and saw the same man from that night.
Heeseung pov
Heeseung sat at a coffee shop across from the central courtyard of the campus. He had found out that "Jake" went to a college not far from that construction site, and it was pretty easy to find out his class schedule. Turns out the admissions clerk isn't too aware of what all the students look like since she willingly gave Heeseung Jake's schedule without questioning why. He took a sip of his caramel americano as he scanned the courtyard for Jake. He had gotten a text early that morning from Jay with a picture of Jake, saying something along the lines of "keep him out of this." Heeseung rolled his eyes and he went back to looking for Jake.
He noticed a man get up from a bench while shoving books into his bag and start walking toward the dorms. Heeseung caught a glimpse of his face and compared it to the picture that Jay sent him. That had to be Jake. Heeseung got up from his seat and started to follow him down the street while keeping his distance. He started to call Jake's name a couple of times to get his attention, but it didn't seem like he heard him. He was going to call his name again when Jake suddenly turned around and saw him. Jake started running down the street and Heeseung sighed; he would just have to talk to him a different way.
Jake kept running, not knowing what to do. He was panicking, wondering how the hell they found him. He ran down the street for a couple until he saw an alleyway. He turned to make sure he was out of sight. He leaned against the wall to take a deep breath.
Heeseung ran after Jake until he saw him stop in front of an alleyway. He got an idea and walked over to the next block and found the other entrance to the alleyway. He walked toward Jake, grabbed him by the collar, and pushed him against the wall. Jake's expression was priceless, and Heeseung loved every second of it. Jake started to panic, "What do you want from me? I swear I didn't say anything! I won't tell anyone what I saw!" Heeseung thought his panicked voice was adorable; he shook his head and smiled as he looked back at Jake. He leaned in toward Jake's ear, "Running away from me will get you nowhere... Jake. Now, are you going to listen to what I have to say?" Jake nodded his head yes.
Heeseung loosened his grip on Jake's shirt, "As long as you don't say anything more about what you saw, we won't have any issues. You got a small glimpse into my world whether you like it or not. You're in danger and I don't want your blood on my hands," he leaned in closer, "so now I'm responsible for you." Heeseung pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and slid it into Jake's front pocket. Jake took out the paper and noticed that it was a phone number, "Why would I need this?" Jake asked. Heeseung let go of Jake and traced his jaw with his finger, "Use it or don't, I'll be watching anyways," Heeseung said with a smirk.
