Dorian's pov
I was always an athlete or that's what my dad would tell me, and I believe it
I've played every sport my parents put me in I never enjoyed any as much as I do volleyball
When I was 10 I played volleyball and I fell in love with the sport
I couldn't imagine myself doing anything elseMy dad saw me click with it too so he dropped every other sport and we became a volleyball family
Everything he did was so I could be the greatest volleyball player
I was sent to camps, schools, and any recreational thing you could think of to help my skills
By the beginning of freshman year, I was skilled enough to make the co-captain of my volleyball team. The only reason why I didn't make captain was because I was a freshman.
My coach said I have a lot of skill and the determination I put into the sport is enough for me to get full ride scholarship for college
The scholarship would be great. I would finally make my dad proud.
Make myself proud.
On my graduation day for middle school, I was doing a speech for the whole eighth-grade body to thank our teachers for what they've done for us
I was so proud of myself because I was chosen to speak so where my parents
When I got up on that stage, I looked around in the crowd for my parents. I didn't see them. I saw my aunt. She smiled at me, but her smile wasn't joy. It was a pity.
She knew something and I knew something bad had happened
I finished my speech. I gave a hug to my teachers, and I went with my aunt.
When we got in the car, she kissed me on the cheek, patted my shoulder, and told me she loved me, and that everything was going to be OK
I was confused cause I didn't know what happened, but I knew it wasn't good
Open the door to my house, my mother in the kitchen with my younger brother crying in her arms
I immediately rushed to him, asking what was wrong with him, asking if he was right, then she looked at me
Tears were in her eyes also
