"Are you sure you'll be fine watching her, I can always drop her off at-"
"Harry, I'll be fine," I laughed as he made his way to the door, "We'll do some baking and makeup, she'll be perfectly fine... Besides the locks have been changed now so we're safe!"
"I can always ditch this interview if you-"
"Harold, I swear if you are not out of my house in twenty seconds then I will get a frying pan and chase you out..."
"Well, if you need me you have my mobile number right?" He asked me for the ninth time, still with one foot in the doorway, "Incase he shows up again?" He shoved the spare house keys I'd given him into his pocket
"Harry, i'm going to murder Darcy and then pretend he done it... Okay bye now," I joked, pushing him out of the door and shutting it behind him.
I heard the letter box slot in the door open, looking down at it I saw Harry's green eyes looking back in , "Bye Darcy, be good for Harmony!" he shouted before closing it again. I decided to get everything ready for baking so headed into the kitchen to way the ingredients...
"Did your Mummy use to do these sorts of things with you Darcy?" I asked as I carefully lined her lips with a pale pink lipstick. The cakes were in the oven still baking, to make sure we could keep an eye on them we'd sat at the kitchen table, makeup sprawled out in front of us. I was currently doing her makeup, then she could do mine... She may have been only three but she had a good idea of what colours went together when choosing for what I put on her...
"Mummy was always too busy..." She told me, copying the pursing movement with her lips that I was doing, "Daddy always plays with me."
"Why was Mummy always too busy?" I asked her, replacing the lid on the lipstick, "What did she use to do?"
"Out with her fwiend..." She replied, "Is it my turn now?"
"Yeap..." I smiled as I saw her grin spread practically ear to ear, she grabbed the eye shadow brush, ladelling it with a gruesome green colour, leaning so far forward she almost fell off the chair. She began to smother my eyelids with the eye shadow, "Did you like Mummy's friend?"
"No," She replied, her little tongue poking out of her mouth as she tried to concentrate on what she was doing, "He was mean to me. I like Daddy's friend's, they nice."
"Like Uncle Louis?"
"Yeah! I love Uncle LouLou!" She grinned, now picking up the mascara... I guessed I was going to look like a mess, seeing as I could feel the mascara wand on my eyebrow but seeing as she was having fun I wasn't going to correct her, "I like you, Daddy hasn't got many girl friends, all Uncles."
"Aww," I smiled, "That can be a good thing, girls just get jealous..." She grabbed the blusher and began spreading it across my cheeks extremely roughly (it literally felt like she was trying to rip my cheeks off).
"Very prettyful!" She laughed, now grabbing the blood red lipstick and began to plaster it on my lips, "Beautiful!"
"Gah! It's Chucky!" I heard Harry laugh from the doorway, Darcy throwing the lipstick down on the table before running up to Harry shouted 'Daddy!'.
"I look Boot-i-ful," I laughed, picking up the compact mirror to inspect Darcy's work... Oh dear me, I looked like a clown who'd got lost coming home from the circus and had fallen through a hedge.
"Sure sure chuckles..." Harry smiled, picking up Darcy, "You little missy look stunning," He told her, kissing her forehead, "Something smells good..."
"Darcy made some cupcakes for you... They're still in the oven though." I informed him, grabbing the makeup wipes from the table and began to wipe off my 'makeover'.
