An innocent girl
Innocent in every way
From the way she would dress
To her hair
Prim and proper
Unnoticed, yes
Intelligent beyond her years
She would cry for hours
For no love did she receive
But he admired her from a far
Watching as she grew
Her confidence increased
Yes he liked this
Her grace became charm
She was rising out from her own shadow she created from doubt
He was proud
He was happy
He believed she could do anything
She was always nice
Saying thanks to all the compliments she now received
But this confidence changed
From confidence to just naive
As she paints more and more on her face
He loves less about her
He had grown to enjoy her freckles
Less and less he could recognize when seeing her
Her appearance
Then her attitude
To anyone's eye
They could see she was as beautiful as can be
Blossomed she had
Out of the cocoon
Rose a beautiful, strong butterfly
A monarch of pure power
But no longer
did he
fine her
beautiful
