A Wolfs Soul

Chapter Three

*Sun rise in the Crimson Thunder packs camp*

"Josh honey it's time to wake up your father wants you to go hunting with him remember?"

"Josh?"

Josh's mother lifts the soft bear skin blanket on his bed to see only a few pillows scrunched up to look like a body. Ana, Josh's mother, gasps in disbelief and runs out of the tent through the camp strait into an important meeting.

"Micheal! He's gone! He ran again!" Ana frantically shouts to her husband.

"Ana whoa slow down, who's gone?" Michal asks Ana trying to calm her

"Josh"

And with that one word everyone knows the drill. This isn't the first time he's tried to run away, he's been trying to run since he was a child. He first ran away when he was 10 years old of course being only ten and not a wolf yet he was going to be caught, but as the years went on it got harder and harder to find him. And now he's a wolf making it much easier for him to hide his scent. Josh has always been a troubled child, his parents don't have the best relationship. Josh's parents had an arranged marriage by the parents of two very powerful packs to unite their power, their parents didn't care about them finding their mates for life they just wanted to assure their spots in the hierarchy. When Josh was about seven years old his mother had found her mate, she had an affair with him, and they loved each other more than anything. She wanted to leave Micheal, so she went to her parents to ask them to let her go, she begged them

"Mother, Father please, your positions are secured me and Micheal have already had a child. Now please allow me to be with my one and only true love."

"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU ANA, YOU MUST STAY MARRIED OR THE CONTRACT WILL BE IN VOID!" Her father yelled at her

"Please father, I beg you. I love him."

But he refused to let her go, so that night Ana an her true love planned to run away across the border lands so that they could be together.

"My love are you ready, we must go quickly." Ana asked him

"Yes my lov-"

Before he could finish his sentence a sharp noise flew through the midnight air and he dropped to the ground.

"Henry! Henry! No, no, no!"

Ana dropped to the ground clutching his body in her arms. Had been shot with an arrow bearing the royal seal, her families royal seal. A masked assassin sent by her father jumped from the trees fleeing a crying Ana holding the dead body of her one chance at true love. Anita was devastated by this betrayal and loss. And the whole time seven year old Josh had been hiding behind a tree, hearing his mother leave he had followed her, he ran to his crying mother assuming she was crying over his fathers body.

"Mommy! Is daddy okay?!"

"This isn't your father go home Josh!" Ana snapped angrily at the poor child

"What? But y-you said m-my love? You call d-daddy y-your love" Josh stuttered out confused and frightened

" I do not love your father! Now go home!" Ana screeched not realizing what she had just said

A confused and scared Josh ran home to his father telling him of what had happened. From then on things between Micheal and Ana just got worse, leaving a scarred Josh to clean us their messes.

*Back to present time*

"Send the troops to find him"

"..."

"Now!"

Micheal and Ana's troops turned into their wolves and began the search, but sneaky Josh hid his sent all around the campsite. The troops went in circles giving Josh a few hours more to get where he was going.

"I can't believe him! I thought we had gone through this with him before."

"We have Micheal but if he's anything like you he obviously didn't listen." Ana says trying to calm Micheal.

"Ana not now! I was in the middle of and important meeting, I even had the leaders of the other packs come. Does he know how much he has just embarrassed us, no probably not but he will!" Micheal snaps back at her with anger in his eyes

"Micheal calm down! Maybe this is why he runs! Maybe he hates us!" Ana yells and begins to cry.

Micheal sighs and walks over to Ana, he grabs her and pulls her tight into his arms affectionately.

"I know, I know. I don't mean to be hard on him, I love him that's all. Don't worry we'll find him." Micheal tells Ana trying to comfort her.
"We'll find him."

The picture at the top is a picture of the Crimson Thunder Pack symbol. Josh also has the same symbol on his right bicep, it is his birthmark because he is from royal decent.
