Silent tears, stolen heart

"Hey holly can you go and take the trash out I have to work on my essay" Sam said softly
"Hey yeah of course I can I'll do it in just a minute I need to finish my edit won't be too long" I smiled. Mine and sam's friendship has gotten better over the last 3 years. Even after Colby left. Fuck why am I still thinking about him

"Hey thanks, I'm gonna go to my room now if you need me I'll be there" Sam replied walking away taking me out of my thoughts I sighed and put my laptop beside me.

I started walking down the stairs, my stomach growling, I knew we had no food so I called up to Sam
"SAM!!" I shouted up from the bottom of the stairs
"WHATS UP!"
"DO YOU WANT POST MATES?"
"YEAH, CAN U GET MY NORMAL TACO BELL ORDER PLEASE"
"YEAH" I shouted up as everything went silent, I ordered our food and decided I should take the trash out now, I grabbed the trash off the side and unlocked the door. I sighed knowing I was going to sweat to death just by taking it out but it had to be done.

I started putting the trash out as I saw a familiar car, I didn't see the driver but it was so familiar almost like Deja vu. I grabbed my phone and messaged Sam

You: hey do you recognise a red Toyota Corolla, with the license plate starting with a c??
Sam: I think so, why?
You: no reason it was just very familiar
Sam: ah okay I'll come down later and we can see if it's still there
You: okay thanks sam

I turned my phone off walking back into the house as a car beeped, I turned realising it was the post mates. And it was the same car.
"SAM!!"
"YEAH"
"COME DOWN QUICK" I shouted as I heard his footsteps running down the stairs

"Wha- oh my god" Sam said his eyes widened as the guy stepped out of the car
"Oh my fucking god" i exclaimed dropping my phone in shock
"Colby.." Sam whispered as he ran to him
"Hey man!" I heard Colbys familiar voice but a lot lower from when he left, I stood there backing into the house unsure of what to do with myself, should I cry?, laugh, smile? I didn't know I just ran to the living room and sat down. What if he didn't recognise me, I mean my hair was now a dark blonde with light highlights, I was as skinny as ever and I dressed totally different, I mean I used to dress in girly clothes and now I'm sat in a baggy Harry styles T-shirt and shorts with chains coming off of it

"Holly?" I heard Colby say as I looked up being distracted from my thoughts
"You came back.." I looked up at him unsure of what to do
"I promised you didn't I?" He smiled. God dammit it missed that smile so much

"Can I sit?" He asked, I just nodded unsure of what to say
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner" he looked down playing with his rings
"It's okay, I just didn't think I'd ever see you again. I mean we lost contact after a month of you being there" I sighed looking at his rings admiring them
"I know I'm sorry but..." he hesitated

"Colby just tell me" I looked up at him as we locked eye contact
"I.. I didn't stop thinking about you, or Sam" he smiled slightly
"Can we not talk like this? It's making me feel funny" I smiled at him, I only said that because I hated knowing that he was gone for so long. Fuck I didn't even know how he felt about me
"Yeah, sorry. But hey, you look really nice" he smiled at me
"Thank you, you look nice too" I smiled sweetly still looking at his rings
"This is awkward" he chuckled a bit making me giggle.
"Real" I replied as we both started laughing
"So how's it been up there with your dad?, how is he?" I asked hoping it would break the awkwardness as Sam came in

"Hey love birds" he said unexpectedly
"Wha- Sam!" I said shocked, him and Colby looked at each other and laughed
"Hey brother come sit" Colby smiled as he moved up his knee just touching mine, my stomach twirled and I felt my face burn up.
"So holly? What did you ask?" Colby turned to me
"Oh Uhm how's your dad?" I asked completely defenceless

"He's okay, he's just lonely, I didn't tell you the reason we moved, but it was because my parents divorced, he's getting better though, how about your parents guys, how are they?" He smiled slightly, I could tell it hurt him to talk about it.
"There okay" Sam said looking at me, I could tell he felt guilty

"Actually, we don't really see them anymore, we practically live on our own and we don't know how they are, if they're even still together" I looked at Colby trying to hide the fact I miss them

"You miss them don't you holly?" He held my hand
"Your dangerous you know." I looked at him
"How?" He asked clearly confused
"I don't know why, I'm just brutally honest with you and we've only just met again after 3 years,it's been about 15 minuets and I'm already telling you everything" I giggled as Sam smiled at me
"Well then holly golbach, seems you should run away before I get too dangerous" Colby chuckled as I hit his arm

"You really are something Colby brock, I do have to go though I have a job interview and I have to get ready" I smiled, patted his leg and stood up
"Bye holly" they both said as I walked away out of the room.
