(Picture of Parker)
"Table seven needs assistance!"Jackie, my boss, yelled from down the diner. I groaned and fixed my red skirt, re buttoned my white shirt, and nodded. I walked over to table seven to a guy with a leather jacket and brown hair that looked kept but not. He had it spiked some, but pieces of hair was falling softly into his bright blue eyes. I tightened my dark brown ponytail and moved my side bangs out of my face.
"Hello and welcome to Nicky's Diner. What can I get you?" I put on my best fake smile and held my notepad tightly in my hands.
"I would like a water and a slice of that key lime pie." He smiled, showing off his perfect white teeth. I scribbled some nonsense on the notepad and grabbed the menu from him. Today was not the day to try and start anything i thought to myself as I grabbed his menu from him. I felt my pony tail tickle the back of my shoulders as I watched him.
"Would that be all?" I asked, tucking the menu under my arm. He really was taking his time here.
"Yes miss.." He glanced at my name tag then to my eyes. "Miss Parker. I like that." He smiled and ran his fingers through his hair. I nodded again and walked back behind the counter.
"Ed. Can I get a slice of key lime pie for table seven?" I asked, grabbing an empty cup, filling it with ice and water.
"Whatever you want Parker." He smiled and handed me a small dish with a neatly cut piece of pie. I smiled down at it and walked back over to table seven.
"Here you go sir. And your water." I placed them both down in front of him and turned around, walking back to my friend. Her short bob dirty blonde hair was going all over the place. Her hazel eyes scanned the diner as she took orders from the people at the counter top. I walked behind her and smiled.
"How many drinks Tina?" I asked, grabbing about five cups.
"I need two pepsi's, two waters, and one sprit." I nodded and went over to the machine, filling up the cups as she told me. I glanced back at the table where the man was now gone. I sighed and passed out the cups to the people Tina told me to and walked to my table. I grabbed the five dollar tip and looked at the napkin. "Call me. We need to talk about the thing. 195-555-6509" I laughed loudly which drew Tina's attention.
"What is it Parker?" She looked over, moving her hair from her eyes.
"This guy gave me his number." I laughed again and put it in my skirt pocket and finished my work day, not forgetting about the number that was sitting in my pocket. After the sun set and the moon rose high in the sky, the diner cleared out. I wiped down the tables and got everything ready for the next day. I grabbed my purse and waved goodbye to Jackie and Ed. Tina walked out with me, her bob bouncing as she walked.
"So. You going to call the guy?" She asked as she popped her fresh gum.
"I don't think so. Like I've told you before, I'm better off alone with my dog and my writing." I smiled and pulled out my car keys and unlocked my silver concord. Tina smiled and got on her scooter.
"It's not all bad. I love being with Cole. He makes me so happy and the sex..."
"I do not want to know!" I laughed and got into my car. "Have a nice night Tina!" She laughed and drove past me on her scooted. I let my hair down as it barley went past my shoulder. I fixed my review mirror as a pair of black eyes stared at me.
"Don't be afraid. Help me." It said softly. It looked like a little girl with black piggy tails and a ripped white dress. I felt my heart beating extremely fast as I gripped the steering wheel.
"Help with what?" I gulped, not taking my eyes off her.
"He's going to get me." She laughed then vanished. I took a deep breath and shakily started my car. What the hell was that? I have to be way over tired. The last time I saw anything like that was when I was little. I had an imaginary friend but I thought she was too real to be fake. I groaned and reached in my pocket and threw the number in the back seat. Nothing good can come from this man then. If I'm seeing things again. No. I'm going insane. I have to be. I started driving home, passing house upon house till I reached my small two story house with a small yard. I parked my car in the drive way and walked to my front door. I unlocked the door and walked in to my little fluffy white dog bouncing all around me. I smiled and knelled down, petting her.
"Hello cherry. Miss me?" I smiled and picked up my dog, putting my keys on the key ring. It was weird that no one was awake, yet it was around two in the morning and my brother was most likely gaming in his room and mom was probably passed out or out. I walked upstairs to my bedroom and put cherry down on the floor as I walked over to my dresser, taking off my name tag and putting it down on the oak. I shimmed out of my red skirt and took off my white button up, throwing it in a pile of dirty clothes and slipped on a big over night shirt, taking my hair out of its pony tail. That girl from the car, she looked so familiar. I had to have seen her before. She needed my help, but help with what? And how could I have been the only one to see her? And the guy at the diner? He was so adorable, yet there was something about him that felt...off. There wasn't must I could say about the feeling of him. My phone buzzed as I pulled out my htc desire and unlocked it. A text from Tina saying that I should contact the cute guy from the diner. I rolled my eyes and texted back: Get back to Cole. I'm going to cuddle Cherry. Not even a minute later she texted back: Could have been the guy at the diner. I didn't even reply, quite frankly, I didn't want to .Tina is always trying to hook my up with guys, but i never do. I like keeping to myself and being alone. Its relaxing without all the drama of, is he cheating on me or does he love me? It's to stressful really. I couldn't do it after my last relationship. I wont go into details on the.I grabbed Cherry and placed her on my chest, smiling as she played her paws out and out her head o top of them.
"I bet its easy being a dog like you huh?" I giggled softly and shook my head. I glanced at my phone, 2:55am. I should probably sleep since i have class tomorrow. I smiled down at Cherry once last time before i slowly closed my eyes, feeling my body drift off into deep sleep.
