Unintentionally revealing a mocking smile, Ogen burst into laughter, leaving Eva bewildered.
"You? Considering to purchase a gown? In this situation you're in ?" he mocked, causing Eva to open her eyes in disbelief. That's when he froze, realizing his error.
After a prolonged silence, Eva stood up with a cold expression, shooting him a sidelong glance.
"I apologize for my unnecessary question; it was a slip of the tongue on my part. I should have thought better before asking someone like you" she stated, then turned towards the tower.
Feeling foolish, she questioned why she thought they were growing closer and believed she could treat him as a friend to ask such a question.
Ogen sat with a cold expression. If not for his plan, he would've cut her tongue on the spot for her rude words. He even considered abandoning the plan and taking off her head right there.
In his 10 years of being a king, he never let such disrespect slide peacefully.
The sound of footsteps interrupted his thoughts—Eva returning to him in a rush.
"Get up already! There are three more people ahead of you, and if you don't hurry, they won't let you in!" she exclaimed.
Ogen frowned at her, even after making fun of her, she returned worried about him. He couldn't help but smirk, realizing he was dealing with a naive individual, making his manipulation easier.
"Ah, yes, I didn't pay attention, I'm an idiot . What would I have done without you?" he remarked, standing up with a warm smile.
She glanced at him briefly, then turned away, saying as she walked off, "If you knew you almost missed it, use those long legs of yours and hurry. I won't be waiting for you."
His warm smile dropped .
'I should be careful; this young lady is emotionally sensitive. If I make one wrong move, she might ruin my plan. It could be more dangerous if we're close to achieving what I want, and she decides to sabotage it.'
He thought to himself walking behind her toward the examination tents.
They stood in front of one of the tents , waiting for their turn. Ogen, feigning kindness, offered for Eva to go ahead. As they waited, he felt uncomfortable under the scrutiny of many eyes. Glancing at the men around, he noticed their lecherous stares. The attention she attracted prompted soldiers to have extra shifts in front of them. Concerned about the potential issues, Ogen glanced at Eva.
'She's drawing too much attention. It might cause problems, especially since they haven't seen her face or hair clearly because she's wearing her cap. I need to find a solution for this problem' he thought, annoyance evident on his face. Just then, a big hand landed on his shoulder from behind—a colossal man with a chest-length beard, covered in tattoos and muscles. He looked Ogen in the eyes and spoke confidently.
"Hey, pretty boy, move behind me."
The entire scene froze, everyone intimidated by the imposing man. Soldiers stepped back, aware of his intentions, he wanted to get close to the beautiful woman.
Ogen slapped the man's hand off his shoulder and, with a wide smile, declared, as if he was waiting for such a thing to happen
"Get your hands off me you disgusting pig"
