The Icey morning air cut through me as I stepped out the cottage door, I scan the tree line for any sight or sign of my sister, I see her barely visible footprints now being painted over by a new layer of snow, I slowly retrace her steps to the edge of the wood land stopping before entering, contemplating whether I should enter.
I felt tiny compared to the giant trees before me, a shiver running down my spine as if sensing the impending danger of the forest.
Warm air from my mouth surrounds me like smoke and quickly dissipating as if never there.
Feyre had left many hours ago, the others may not care but I do, I take a few steps forward entering the creaking forest and before me I here a branch break, through the fog I see a figure of a woman as she comes into view I recognise the golden brown hair of my sister, over her shoulder lies a small deer and on top some grey pelt, my hungry eyes drool at the sight of the deer already coming up with dinner plans for the next few days, I walk forward towards her in excitement but her face wears a distant look as if she were not there at all, she spots me and switch's back to herself giving me a half smile as she approaches.

The walk from the wood to the cottage was mostly silent Feyre appearing to be thinking for most of the journey back, as we enter the cottage all eyes are glued to the deer, hunger clear in there eyes just how mine were moments ago.
"Feyre." Our father's calls out from his chair infront of the blazing fire."What luck you had today in bringing us such a feast."
Of course Nesta snorts any bit of praise deemed unworthy to her if it wasn't being given to her or if its just anything that comes out of fathers mouth. Feyre walks past me putting the deer on the table shooting a glare at Nesta as she did.
"We can eat half the meat this week and dry the rest." Feyre says peering down at the doe below her.
"I'll go to the market tomorrow to see how much I can get for the hides, Lily will come with me?." She says turning to look at me.
"Of course." I reply with a smile, I glance over at Nesta and Elain already sensing their burning gazes in my back wreathing with jealousy. I stuck out my tongue just to piss Nesta off even more, I then turn back to Feyre and giggle she returns my antics with a smirk.
Elain and Nesta declare that they need new boots and cloaks, begging Feyre to give them the coppers from the hind.
Father suddenly gets up from his chair stumbling over with his bad leg slowing him down, he comes over to the table grabbing the edge with his hands shifting the weight off his leg, he gazed at the deer then to the giant grey pelt a worried look in his eyes.
"Feyre, where did you get this?."
"The same place I got the deer."Her tone sharp clearly not wanting to say anymore about the pelt.
"Feyre...the risk...."
It was there I learned that the grey pelt before me was that of a wolf, that my sister could have killed a Fae. I glance over to look at her worriedly.
"I had no other choice." She snaps back.
Silence swarms around us but not for long, the silence breaks by Nestas insults to Feyre, and Feyre returning them with an equally smart response.
As they bicker back and forth I approach Feyre putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I'll take care of the deer do what you need to do." I smile gently she returns it with a quick nod and walks off to our room.
It should be me anyways as the cook of the family.
Feyre does so much already and I'm always happy to help her. Some days I wish I could turn back time to when we were children, laughing and smiling not a care in the world....I never see her smile now as much as I try to this life of ours gives no opportunity to properly laugh or smile, everyday is a fight for survival.
But I have great intuition, and something tells me there's something great going to happen and rarely am I wrong.
