Aurelia

Heavy raindrops were running down the windows, as I was watching the gloomy landscapes getting passed by the Hogwarts express.

Since we're almost at Hogworts, I had already
changed into my uniform.
The Slytherin badge, which my big brother learned me to be so proud of, this year even had the words head girl on it.
My best friend Pansy was telling Daphne all about her vacation in France and all of the cute boys she met there. Daphne's sister Astoria was deeply focused on her book and covered herself up with a fluffy blanket.
I was actually thinking of also getting under the blanket.

It was incredibly cold for an early autumn. The sun has been showing itself less and less, since the Dark Lord's regime had taken over the whole of England last year and now was spreading its darkness over Europe.

"Auri did you hear me?", Pansy snapped me out of my thoughts.
"No, sorry Pans. What did you say?", I focused again.
"What are you gonna wear tommorrow?", Pansy repeated.

Right I almost forgot about that. Before the start of the new school year there's still going to be that masked ball in the Malfoy Manor tommorrow, which means a lot of deatheaters dancing around for one evening just to celebrate another one of the Dark Lord's victories over the next country. I hated these events, but my father always insisted on me and my brother attending them.

"I found this really pretty dress, I'll show it to you later", I smiled.

The Great Hall had never been as empty as this year. No wonders since muggleborns aren't allowed to attend Hogwarts anymore.

I couldn't be more grateful, that I'm now attending my last year at Hogwarts and spent most of my time as a student here when Hogwarts still felt like a home.
Now it just feels like all the magic of this ancient castle has just vanished.

I was just enjoying my dessert, when Theo snatched some of it from my plate. My brother already finished school but was now sitting here with me as a freshly new recruited deatheater.
Because there now is so much empty space in Hogwarts, they made a part of the castle into some sort of staying place for the younger deatheaters, where they have their own dorms and training rooms.

It makes me happy that I now can have my brother so near to me, since we're really close but it also broke my heart when he got the dark mark. My brother is really dear to me and it's scary to know on what kind of missions he might get send every night.

"Are you excited for tommorrow?", his eyes, which are just the same blue as mine, now looked at me.
"Not excited, but nervous", I replied.
"No need to be nervous Auri, I'll be by your side the whole evening."
"Exactly and I'm also there babe", Pansy now interfered the conversation."It'll just be a funsy little evening, no need to worry", she reasured me by holding my hand.
"Thanks", I gave both of them a soft smile.

After dinner, as Slytherin's head girl, it was my duty to walk all of the new students to the common room. I explained everything they needed to know about the moving stairs, the portraits, the password you need to get access to the common room and their dorms.
When that was finally done I went to my own dorm and got comfortable in my bed. I now had a dorm for my own just as all the other pureblood students. Halfbloods still had to share a dorm though.
Although I do like the privacy I'll kind of miss sharing a dorm with my girls.

After what only felt like 15 minutes I sudddenly realised, that it had already gotten dark. I threw my book on top of the staple with all of the other ones and quickly brushed my hair.
I grabbed my mahagony wand and quickly left my dorm.

With light steps I was wandering around the cold corridors of Hogwarts, doing my weekly night patrol.
It was the first night of the new school year so I actually encountered some students that where still not in their beds. After I checked the all floors I'm assigned to I decided to take the longer way back to the common room, because I was enjoying this little evening stroll.

I was just about to go down the stairs to the dungeons, where the Slytherin common room is located, when something suddenly made me freeze from head to toe.
I felt some dark presence around me that made goosebumps spread over my whole body.
Because of my familiy I already had encountered a lot of people with this sort of darkness around them. Even my brothers aura has been changing a lot, since he got the dark mark, but I had never felt such a heavy and oppressive dark presence before, as in this exact moment. I felt watched.

I turned around but encountered nothing else than darkness. "Hello?", I softly called into the empty corridor. No answer. There was nobody there.
I turned back around again and hurried into my dorm.
As soon as I got there I hushed into my warm bed and went to sleep. I new I wasn't going to get a lot of sleep the day after.
