It was a dark windy night. It looks like it is about to storm. I walk down the lonely sidewalk, shivering from the cold. I had just left my after school job at the library and I was on my way home. I can't believe how dark it has gotten in those few short hours.
Then all of a sudden a gust of wind blows roughly against me, knocking all off my papers I was carrying, right out of my hands. I gasp and swiftly try to catch them but they blow onto the ground and start to scatter. I then start grabbing as many as I can as the wind keeps blowing.
These papers are special. They are a story I have been working on for weeks now. I couldn't just lose them!
I finally picked up most of them but when I tried to reach for the last four pages another gust of wind blows. The four pages go flying again. I rush after them as fast as I can and grab one but I couldn't grab the others in time and they go into this really dark alleyway.
Slowly, I walk up to the front of the alley's entrance and stare inside. I can barely see anything inside. Then I notice one of the papers close to the entrance. Then I feel a little bit of courage. I quietly step into the alleyway and pick of the paper.
That's when I notice another one laying on a short box near a big trashcan. I quickly rush to it and grab the paper. I smile and hold the papers I have tightly.
The other one. Where is it? I look around from where I am. It's so scary in here.
Then I flinch and step back quickly when I hear a loud noise in front of me. My heart is racing now. I'm not thinking anymore. I just run as fast as I can away from there forgetting all about the last page.
Home. I need to be home. I am running as fast as my feet will carry me away from town and down a gravel road. After a while I finally rush up to my house and burst through the front door, out of breath.
My mind was racing now. What was that? Was it dangerous? Would it had killed me if it had caught me? All of these questions terrified me even more.
