After having their dinner everyone went to sleep as it was already pretty late. Chan and Minho were no exception. Freshening up and wearing comfortable clothes they sat on the bed. Minho with the gift bag in front of him.
"Aren't you gonna open it, Min?"
"Yeah. But I am a bit scared. I don't know what it might be."
"Who gets scared to open a gift bag?" Chan couldn't help but laugh. "It's actually just a simple gift. I didn't know what to give you as I was in a big rush and I didn't have any time. So I got you whatever I could."
"About that. How did you know it was my birthday? I don't remember telling you."
"I didn't. Remember in the morning when Jeongin sent you messages?"
"And deleted them. Yeah, I remember."
"Well, I kind of lied to you. I did read what he sent you. He actually wished you a happy birthday. But then realized your birthday was the next day so he apologized and quickly deleted the message."
"Oh, that makes sense now. Wait lemme see if he wished me today." Minho looked for his phone from under the pillow and finding it he started looking for Jeongin's message.
"He did wish me. That too exactly at 12." Minho said and replying with a quick thank you he kept the phone aside. "Now for the gift," he said brushing his palms.
He carefully opened the wrapper and discovered a set of his favorite manga. "How did you know it was my favorite- Oh My God you did not!" Minho was casually gonna look through it but saw the big sign on the front page and lost his shit. "You did not just get a signed copy of it Channie Hyung! How did you even get that?"
"I have my ways. I didn't know much about you so I couldn't think of something good to give you as a present that would make you happy. But I remembered how you almost always read this specific manga all the time. So I guessed it was your favorite. So I thought getting you a signed copy might be a good idea. So..are you happy?"
"Is that even a question? This is my comfort manga. I am so much happy I can't explain you. This is the best thing someone has given me. That too with so much thinking. Thank you so much, Hyung. I can't thank you enough."
"You don't have to thank me. I am glad that I could make you happy on your birthday. And as it is your birthday, let's go somewhere tomorrow. I will take you wherever you want. How does that sound?"
"That sounds amazing. But I think I would rather stay at home. Let's spend more time with everyone."
"Okay. That's really new coming from you. Glad to see you getting along with my family."
"How can I not? Your family is so sweet and lovely. You make them sound totally different than they are. I personally love them."
"I really didn't lie about them. They are actually not like this. My family is very conservative. But I feel like they are getting a bit open-minded with you. Though I don't know why. Most of the time, they don't actually like girls like you. By like you, I meant the way you act around them. But somehow with you they really don't mind. They actually seem to enjoy your company a lot. And I am glad about that. If they become a little bit open-minded because of you then I am glad."

"Nevermind. Why did I even try to compliment someone who is too over himself? My bad."
"I am not too over myself. I am self-aware."
"Yeah yeah. Whatever." Chan said rolling his eyes. "Let's sleep now. I am tired."
"Me too. Good night."
"Good night to you too weirdo."
"Yeah, good night to you three you freak."
"That's not how to talk to someone who is older than you and gave you a birthday surprise."
"As you said it's my birthday and I turned the same age as you. So now you are not as old as me."
"What do I expect from you? You ungrateful brat." Chan jokingly said. But Minho didn't respond for a while. And both of them lay down.
"Hyung?" Minho softly called him.
"Hmm?" Chan just hummed without opening his eyes.
"Thank you."
"You already thank me many times."
"I know. I still wanted to say it to you. I mean genuinely say it to you. And I am also sorry."
"Why sorry? For what?"
"For being an annoying ungrateful brat."
"Hey." Chan turned towards Minho. "I was joking. I didn't actually mean to call you that. I thought it-"
"I know." Minho cut himself off. "I Know you were joking. But I was actually being an ungrateful brat the whole time. With no manners and all. And it's not okay. Now I feel so bad and ashamed for always being the jerk I acted like. I swear no one ever in my life gave me this much attention as you guys. Never cared this much for me. Never did this much for me. I will never forget you guys. Ever. And I am genuinely grateful for that and sorry for my actions."
"I don't know what to say now that you are actually getting humbled."
"You don't have to say anything. I just felt like letting it out. I am seriously gonna miss your family so much when I go back."
"Now that you brought it up. How would I tell them about us not being together anymore?"
"Just say that I dumped you and started seeing another dude."
"You sure you will like the idea of them hating you?"
"I don't like the idea of it. But we gotta say something to them, right? So I should become the bad guy among us. So I will make sure to get as much of their love as long as I am staying here."
"I don't mind you getting their love but why are you threatening my portion? They don't care about me anymore."
"Well, it's not my fault that they love me more than you."
"It does seem like that actually."
"because it is. No, seriously I am gonna miss this so much. I wish I could stay here forever."
"You can if you want to."
"Don't be ridiculous. I can't. And you gotta find a nice girl for yourself soon."
"Pretty sure she won't be as beautiful as you."
"Oh My God. Are you flirting now? Shut the fuck up, man!" Minho turned around from Chan to hide his red face.
"Here we go. Minho being back to his real self again." Chan said chuckling.
"You asked for it freak!"
"Sure. Sure."
