Where it all started

Dear diary,

Its my b day!! Im 9 years old now. Me, mum and dad are going to see granny. I finally got my powers!!! It happened 2 weeks ago, mum was on the balcony bc she had a long day and dad was at work. I was looking at the candle dad gave me and something in my head was telling me to put my finger above it. It was really weird i know, but when i did, a drop of water came out!! IM A WATER ELEMENT!! I was so happy! Mum thought i would be an eatrh element bc im rlly strong.
Dad is coming back from work in 5 minutes, so ill talk to you later

I closed my diary and layed on my bed. Is granny ok? Last time i saw her she looked really tired. She didnt even tell me about that stupid fairly tale she always tells me about "special people" with "special powers".
I sat with mum while she was drinking her coffee. Shes always really sleepy before she has that.
"Mum? Will uncle John come to my party today?"
"I dont know, dear. Hes trying his best on healing grannys broken heart. But dont worry, him and grandma Susan got you a gift".
I hated grandma Susan. She always tells  uncle John to " use his healing powers for better thing". Yea right, she should use some deodorant first!
When we finally arrived at the place granny was staing dad hugged me really thight. I hurted a little but i loved dad, so i hugged him even harder. We waited for a bit till seeing granny. A lot of people were living with her and they were all wearing white clothes. Mum told me it was because they we re preparing for my top secret present to come.
When i saw granny i ran to hug her. I miss her so much! I havent seen her for ages!
"Granny! How are you?"
"Hi my little bug. Im good. Did you make any earthquackes?"
"No! Im a water element! Just like mommy!"
"Dont be silly! You know you re one of them specials"
"No way! Sally is way more skilled than me!"
"Nick, why dont we leave granny alone for a little"
Mum took me outside of the weird red cross building. She said dad and her need to talk about something important

Later that day Sally came to my house! We had a lot of fun! She even thought me how to make those weird wind circles she always does when she s bored, but insted of wind, I used water! It was so fun! After that, everyone brought me the birthday cake and i blew out the candles. I never told anyone, but i wished to be the gratest, coolest water user on this planet!
When Sally left, mum and dad said they needed to talk to me about something. They brought me the present uncle John gave me and said that granny really wanted me to keep this. When i oppened it up, it was an old, rotting, ugly book! I was furious! Why kind of present is this? I ran to my room and closed the door. Why does everyone get to have good gifts but me? Why is granny in that smelly white place and why does she think im not a water element?
"Beetle? Are you ok?"
Dad came into my room and hugged me
"Grandma really wanted you to have this"
"But why? Does she think im not supposed to he water?"
"No! She just..When you ll read this book when you ll he old enough you ll undertand"
He have me a kiss on the cheek and left.
From that day, i swore on my life that one day, i ll use that rusty old book to become the best healer the world has ever seen, just like mum and granny
