Chapter 2

         Have you ever feel like your world just tore in half....like it's darker than usually,It feels like nothing makes sense anymore,Like I was walking on a path full of lies,That's how I felt when I stared in the mirror getting ready for my first day at the kindergarten.

September 3,2021

    It had been approximately 5 days since I walked in on Matthew with that waitress,But here I am getting ready for my first day at the kindergarten,Although I could say I'm excited I just couldn't muster up the courage to show it.
   
   I was staying at an hotel I couldn't  stomach going into that apartment,I couldn't face Matthew without the feeling of disgust and betrayal,I was broken out of thought when my phone began to ring,I thought it was Matthew he has been calling me non-stop since that day...I have been ignoring the calls I couldn't talk to him right now I had more important stuff to do.The phone went off again sighing I decided to take a look at it contemplating declining Matthew's Call.
  
    As I picked up the phone it lit up in my hands showcasing the caller's ID to be "JT" My best friend since high-school.He has been there for me for a couple years,I was there when he got his girlfriend Imani in high-school I was so happy I almost cried,His girlfriend was a nice person  Although she was very quiet ,she was gorgeous,We were great friends we would tease JT whenever all three of us were together,I smiled at that memory.

     "Hello?",Jt said after snapping me out of my thoughts,I didn't even realize I had answered the phone,"Zemira?" he called out once again."Hello" I responded,while stuffing my handbag with the necessary Items. "Are you excited?" Jt asked.He always knew I loved kids and loved working with them"Im actually super excited to see my little people"I said while rushing out the door.Removing the phone from my ears looking at the time seeing 7:45.

   "Oh crap" I said internally, getting a reaponse from my subconscious Late on your first day"JT im gonna have to call you back".I said while rushing to the bus stop,hanging up without a response.Before I could put the phone in my bag I collided into someone,Looking up seeing someone I was avoiding for the past few days.

   "Matthew,What are you doing here how did you find me?"I asked.He held up is phone "your location is still on" he said waving his phone up in the air.Pushing past him I saw my bus making its way to the bus stop,I felt a grab on my forearm,Pulling me towards him.I debated on if I should hear him out but deep down I know I still loved him but the images of the event I walked in on made me feel nothing but rage.
   
        "The waitress Matthew,really out of everyone a waitress?" I asked with tears filling my eyes almost threatening to leave my eyes. He stood there in silence staring at me with an expression that would have made me think twice about walking away from him,it would make me stay even if he had cheated but I couldn't stomach that feeling...That expression,That day he didn't even chase after me.

         Coming out the train of thought to the bus horn blowing,Yanking my hand from his,running from the spot I once stood to catch a bus,not knowing at this moment I made up my mind to leave the person I onced love.
