after her nighttime adventure, margot went back to bed and didn't get up until the sun forced its way through her curtains and the sound of birds cooing made her stir.
sighing, she rolled over and looked at the clock on her nightstand. 8.39 am. as she became more conscious, she began to feel the sweat that coated her body and the stifling heat of her duvet over her. rubbing her eyes, margot slid out of bed and padded down the stairs in her pyjamas to the kitchen.
in the kitchen, she was greeted by ginny and hermione, fanning themselves with molly's recipe books.
"morning." margot waved to the two girls as she poured herself a glass of water.
"it's so hot, i feel like i can't breathe." ginny moaned. hermione nodded in agreement and kept fanning herself.
"tell me about it, i woke up sweating like a pig. it's gotta be over 30 degrees already.""perfect weather for a beach day, i say." fred said as he and george appeared in the kitchen. fred was shirtless and margot was having a hard time not ogling at his perfect abs and defined biceps. fred didn't seem to notice margot's flustered state and reached around her to pour himself a drink.
"yes! i'll go tell harry and ron, be ready to leave at 10!" ginny ran off excitedly.
"well, i guess that's that then. beach day it is." george joked.
"whatever ginny says goes." margot shrugged, taking her glass of water back upstairs with her, completely unaware of fred staring at her ass in her pyjama shorts.🌌
just before 10, everyone had assembled in the living room, packed and ready to go. margot had changed into dark blue denim shorts with a pink tank top to momentarily cover up the floral bikini she was wearing. her favourite red heart sunglasses were perched on top of her cherry red hair, which was in braids, and her face was lathered in sunscreen. her beach bag weighed down her shoulder and her sliders were on her feet. when summer was over, she was going to miss that feeling.
"alright everyone ready? let's try and apparate at the same time. and remember, north cove, not south, otherwise you'll be down all the way at the other end. okay, ready?" hermione lifted up her wand and so did the others. "on the count of 3. 1,2-" she disappeared, so they all followed suit.
margot squeezed her eyes shut tight and braced herself for that horrible feeling. her stomach lurched and she felt herself being pulled through space, until everything stood still, and she could hear the cawing of seagulls, the crash of waves, and she could feel the sand underneath her feet. when she opened her eyes, she was stood in a secluded cove, out of sight. alone. it was hidden from view by a rocky outcrop of cliff, and it was breathtaking.
pristine turquoise waters lapped at the soft yellow sand. gulls circled in the blue sky overhead, and the sun beamed down on the beautiful landscape.
"guys?" margot called, she couldn't see anyone and she was afraid she had apparated to the wrong place.
"hey, i hear margie!" fred's voice came from around the corner, and then he appeared, like a mesmerising mirage, followed by the rest of the group. as they all climbed over the pile of rock that had been obscuring them from margot and the little slice of paradise she had stumbled upon, they all gasped and awed at the small cove.
