Nightmares

Khaos (Fleetway) had been twitching and gasping softly in his sleep for quite a while, he mumbled at times as well, it was very rare for him to sleep as he claims he doesn't need to sleep which is half true but it is helpful to recharge his energy whenever he uses his abilities. As a substitute, so he doesn't have to sleep is feeding off people's negative energy or emotions. This time was different however he had been worried about his lover a lot lately he usually refused to sleep with her other than keep watch staying in her room but for once he gave in and decided that he'd sleep with her as much as he didn't want too, he wanted to try just this once.

Mabel had been woken up by something wet hitting her cheek, She slowly opened her eyes to find the source only to see that it was Khaos crying in his sleep, she was surprised he had never cried well not in front of her at least, She stared at him for a bit only to feel a sharp pain in her back, Khaos had unknowingly dug his claws into her back while holding her, she winced and tried to wake khaos.


"Khaos..."  she spoke tiredly and shook him softly, he didn't wake up his claws digging deeper into her skin causing her to bleed and wince more, she tried once again to wake him.

"K-Khaos please wake up.." She shook him a bit harshly this time but to no avail, She tried getting up but he had a pretty tight grip on her, She bled more dripping onto the sheets also staining her shirt.


"Khaos!" That did the trick he gasped as soon as he woke up, letting go of her but he immediately started to hyperventilate, His quills were sharpened his fur on end and his negative energy spiked, his eyes spiraling, This worried her she wasn't used to seeing him like this.


"Khaos?? what happened?" He didn't respond continuing to hyperventilate tears streaming down his face and his bloody claws digging into the bed, She realized asking him questions wouldn't help so she decided to try and calm him down.


"Shhh its okay just breath okay..?" She spoke concerned, She held his hand to try and comfort him but he just pulled away and quickly got out of bed leaving the room as fast as he could and locking himself in the bathroom, This caused Mabel to worry even more she got up and went to the bathroom, knocking on the door.


"Sweetie..?" Khaos didn't answer, he was leaning over the sink trying to calm his breathing but he was having trouble controlling his emotions which interfered with his powers, he looked at the mirror which had started melting which caused him to quickly stand up and back away the sink had started doing the same he stopped leaning on the sink, the temperature started rising he started to panic which didn't help the situation only making it get hotter, it of course didn't affect him.


Mabel had felt the heat coming from the bathroom, which caused more concern she grabbed the door knob to try and open the door only to be burned by it causing her to yelp loudly, The door knob had become unbelievably hot.


"Khaos!? Is everything okay!?" She shouted from outside the bathroom, but once again no answer she kept getting more worried by the second, so she just decided to break the door down which worked that's when she saw Khaos sitting on the floor holding his head hyperventilating even more.


all he could hear was his loud heartbeat pounding in his chest, practically everything was melting and khaos's quills were on fire, the heat started to become worse that it spread in the house and caused mabel to sweat but she didn't care and went up to Khaos.


"Khaos I need you to calm down please.."  Again he couldn't hear her so she decided to hug him his eyes widened feeling her warmth she rubbed his back to try to get him to calm down which slowly started working


"Just breathe in and out.."  She spoke softly he finally was able to hear her, he did as he was told and shakily breathed in.


"Good, Breath out.."  He breathed out his body starting to relax from hearing her voice.


"Breath in again.." He breathed in, the temperature started to go down.


"There you go just keep doing that.." He continued eventually completely calming down the fire disappearing from his quills and the temperature in the bathroom going back to normal, unfortunately pretty much everything in the bathroom had melted but mabel didn't care at the moment she was just glad that the love of her life was calm now, She gently held his face and tilted his head up. 

"What happened..?" She held his face with care and he looked at her with teary eyes not responding at first but eventually he did.

"It was just a nightmare.." He spoke his voice raspy and hoarse she tilted her head caressing his cheek with her thumb.


"What was it about?" he stared at her for a while but said nothing, he got up and he made bandages appear in his hand, he sat behind her he took her shirt off and started bandaging her back, finally speaking.


"I'm sorry for scratching you and ruining your shirt i hope you forgive me." He apologized he did truly feel bad for hurting her of course he didn't mean to but still felt guilty, he had eventually finished bandaging her back.



"Khaos..." She turned around and held his face again, he didn't look at her this time staring at the floor.


"Please tell me.." She lifted his head making him look at her, his ears pin back and he spoke in a whisper.


"...You..."  That was all he said he couldn't say anymore he thought if he did it would come true and that was something he didn't want something he couldn't take.


"Me? what about me..?" He just shook his head, she understood and sighed standing up and taking his hand to help him up.


"How about we go back to bed and worry about it later, how's that sound?" She smiled softly to reassure him that everything would be okay, but he only nodded and followed her back to their room, she was the first to lie down, Khaos just stood there.


"Hm? what's the matter?"  He didn't answer, he sat down and picked her up holding her in his arms it didn't seem like he would let go anytime soon, This made her blush and she looks up at him.


"Khaos?"  He kissed her forehead holding her close to him caressing her cheek.


"Just rest, I won't leave you i'll hold you the entire time." He continued to caress her cheek lovingly, she blushed even more.


"What about you?" He always thought it was adorable that she always thought about him she was so caring which is why he loves her so much.


"I'll be fine just rest please." He kissed her cheek and she smiled snuggling against his chest and starting to fall back to sleep.


"I love you.." She said before drifting to sleep, he smiled a little which is something he barely ever did with anyone but her she was truly special to him she doesn't know how special she was how much she meant to him.


"I love you too.." He held her but spoke up again.




"...I Don't know what i'd do without you, Without you life is meaningless i hope i can be with you forever i'll give you the happiness you truly deserve..."
