Tiana was almost done with another back breaking shift at her cafe. She was devoted to her dream, and she would do anything in her power to get there. She carried the tray of piping hot beignets to the customers, greeting each of them by name.

"Why Mr. Wilord, how are you and the misses doing?" She asked a regular.

"Mighty fine. The littles have been giving us trouble." He replied, sipping his coffee.

"Ah well don't let them win!" She laughed as she moved to the next table.

A blonde man sat there, reading the newspaper quietly. "Well good morning sir, I'm Tiana, what's your name?"

The man ignored her, just flipping his newspaper. When he looked up and saw her still standing there, he finally spoke up "Nanami"

"Well Mr. Nanami what brings you to our little cafe?" She greeted him as she put his plate down.

He seemed slightly annoyed as he put away his newspaper, "well... I was told that this place has the best beignets in New Orleans," he took a small bite of one of them, then grabbed a napkin to remove the powdered sugar around his mouth. "...it seems I was misled... the food here is well... unremarkable." He then got up, grabbing his newspaper and leaving his money on the table, then walked out.

"Ugh," Tiana said as she watched him leave out the door. "Now there's no need to be rude." And she could see some of the other customers nodding in agreement.

She completed her shift like normal, but as she laid in bed she found herself thinking about that strange interaction again. Something about it just didn't sit right with her. She sighed clearing her mind of that and looked up at the stars in the window. One of these days she was going to get her restaurant, she knew it.
