??? POV:
The prologue starts with a landscape scene, with various shapes in the background forming mountains, and the ground is almost polygonal in appearance. An abstract feminine character is lying down curled in a ball, a large clean gaping hole in her torso dripping orange liquid.
???: *breathing slowly and heavily*
This is ENA (also spelled as ƎNA), and she is a worker. She started this job with the intent to pass the time as she tried to figure out what she wanted in life, over time, due to her outstanding work. Her superiors would usually leave gifts at her house that made her feel special. She felt happy, but only temporarily, after that, it was back to feeling like something was missing. Wondering what this 'missing thing' could be, she pondered this when she had time off. She worked hard and got results, and yet they fired her because someone else got better results than her.
'Not doing a good enough job' they said, not doing a good enough job? But she worked tirelessly to please her superiors, always clocked in at the right time, never got written up, and never had any complaints filed against her. They said she was the most useful out of all of their employees, and yet they threw her away like trash, deeming her 'useless' and replacing her with someone they believed to be better once they were done with her.
But the more she thought about how she had lived her life, the more lonely she felt. That was when it hit her, now she had realized a little too late what she had desired. What she had been missing: Someone to come home to. Someone to look forward to seeing when she got home, someone to squeeze her when she felt touch starved, someone to love her and care for her, someone she could love with all her being.
At the time she always thought it would be nice to have a significant other, but now she was never going to be able to live out that dream. Because when you get 'fired', you are usually fatally wounded and left to rot somewhere far away. small tears formed in her eyes as she felt cold, alone, and lost. This was it...she was dead...or so it seemed.
???: "You want to know what it feels like to be loved?"
The girl slowly and painfully turned over as she saw a dark figure standing there.
???: "I can help you there...In exchange for your soul- wait..."
The figure sniffed the air, seemingly picking up a scent.
???: "Is that a Turrón I smell? Change of plans, you hand over that Turrón, and I'll grant you what you realized too late what you've always wanted...a lover...all you gotta do is shake my hand."
ENA, not wanting to miss this opportunity, flipped herself over and onto her gaping stomach and began to crawl her way toward the man.
The more she crawled, the more pain she felt. Her torso was already burning with pain before, but now with dirt being rubbed it it, she felt the wound burn even more. She didn't care though, she wanted someone to love her. After five agonizing minutes of her crawling to the man, She took out the Turrón.
