anger, the only thing Teru felt towards the filthy creatures named supernatural

the number of names he calls them is proof of that, the way he kills them without mercy is proof of that.

But for some reason, he felt more anger towards a human, though he swore he would never hate a human as much as he hates a supernatural.  And that human was Akane Aoi, a person other than his younger brother whom he trusted with his life.

They fought together flawlessly, they trusted each other to the point their entire relationship was built off of their trust in each other.

So why? Why did Akane bring a hammer to his back? He trusted him, didn't he? Did he secretly hate him? Was their whole relationship an act?

'It's us, president, it's the clock keepers.'

The way he said it so coldly, Teru tried to understand the tone but he couldn't grasp anything more than that hint of sadness in his voice.

'us'

He's talking about the clock keepers, but he isn't one, he hated that role more than anyone. So why is he imbracing it like his own? He swore he hated it. Teru remembers the hate and sadness lacing his voice the day they met, when Teru had brought a sword to the redhead's neck. For some reason, he felt sick every time he thought about that day.

¨forgive me, president. there's going t-¨

You could hear the strong guilt in his voice, though Teru was too blinded by rage to notice. He swung his sword at him, not seeing his friend. but rather just another supernatural that must be killed.

¨restrict!¨

He felt a heavy weight on his wrists, Teru fell to the floor on his knees. ¨aoi, What is the meaning of this?¨ He looked up to face him, finally calming down.

Akane looked away, in shame. In guilt?

'look at me Aoi, tell me what's happening'

Teru so desperately wanted to say, he swallowed the lump in his throat.

¨We are holding a trial. To see who's guilty.¨

¨is now really the time for that?¨

¨It's precisely because it is 'now'....that we need to do this, you'll find out why soon.¨

'good damnit just tell me now!' Teru wanted to shout at him, yell, and make him explain what was happening.

¨My hands been forced this time, I have to side with them so,¨

'Minamoto teru student council president . I, lowest ranking member of the clock keepers summon you to our court of law'

¨court is now in session!¨

soon they were in a cold courtroom, Akane with the two other clockkeepers. It almost didn't feel like the Akane he knew.  He bared that hood that covered his face. There he stood, not acting like the student Akane Aoi, nor his friend Akane Aoi. He was acting like the thing he swore he hated.

And there sat Teru, piled up alongside the other defendants, He shouldn't be there.
