In a world where the course of life undergoes a significant shift every three and six years, the fateful encounter between 18-year-old Adeline and 19-year-old Ben unfolds against a backdrop of perpetual change and hearts entwined in the delicate dance of love. In this society, Young Individuals, being more susceptible to the unknown disease, are mandated to ingest a government-provided pill. This pill serves as a dual-purpose elixir, resetting not only their memories but also rejuvenating their blood flow. This precautionary measure is enforced to ward off the looming threat of the unknown disease, rendering each reset a crucial stride toward survival.

Following each reset, these individuals, now referred to as "Anew," undergo a strategic relocation to a different region. Armed with meticulously crafted new memories, this relocation seeks to prevent encounters with those who have yet to reset their memories, minimizing the risk of exposure to the potential dangers associated with the unknown disease.

Adeline and Ben's story unfolds against this backdrop. As they grapple with the challenges of love in a reality constantly resetting itself, their journey becomes a poignant exploration of human resilience amid the ever-renewing cycle and the looming threat of the unknown disease.

Adeline had only two years left when she crossed paths with Ben who had 6 years before he reset. They both fell in love. Despite their opposite personalities, with Adeline being easygoing and expressive while Ben was reserved and gentle, their love transcended their differences with their unique connection, they spent almost every day together and did not miss any chances to be in each other's company. Sadly, their deep and passionate love faced a formidable challenge—the ever-shifting reality dictated by a government-issued pill.

As the government agent arrived to administer the pill to Adeline, she hesitated, realizing the impact it would have on her memories, especially moments shared with Ben. Despite her initial readiness and excitement for the reset, thoughts of missing Ben's loving gaze and the joy of their shared jokes flooded her mind.

In a bold act of defiance, Adeline tossed the pill aside, choosing a futile run towards Ben, fueled by the desperate desire to see him one last time. The pain in her feet became irrelevant against the flood of thoughts she wished to share with him.

"Adeline?!" Ben's voice echoed as she reached him, collapsing into his arms. He caught her just before her legs gave way, and they sank onto the grass together.

"Adeline, what happened?" Ben's concern deepened as he caressed her face.

Adeline looked at Ben, her eyes reflecting a world about to crumble. Ben understood.

"Adeline, it's okay," he reassured, pulling her closer

She whimpered, "I remember too well, our first meeting, our initial conversation, those silly first fights, the first kiss, and the first confession." Buried in Ben's shoulder, she hoped he wouldn't see her face, fearing it would only make her feel weaker.

"I don't want to reset. I hate the idea of starting a new life without you," she mumbled, still hiding her face against Ben's shoulders.

"You will forget," Ben declared gently, his hand caressing her head.

"How can I forget about you, about us?" she questioned, the pain evident in her voice

"You will forget, you won't remember," he coldly replied, still gently caressing her head. Adeline, interpreting his cold reply as indifference, finally looked at him, only to find his eyes filled with despair, shattering her assumptions.

Ben might not be expressive and is usually aloof, but it is only Adeline who can decipher the language of his silence. As the reality sunk in, Adeline realized that forgetting him was as hard for Ben as it was for her. About to reach for Ben's cheek, a searing pain in her head interrupted, like a bell inside her brain ringing, about to explode, causing her to fall from Ben's embrace.

"She has to take this pill, or the disease will reach her heart and she'll die," the agent appeared suddenly, but Adeline summoned her last energy to refuse, weakly stating, "No."

"Give it to me," Ben commanded, "Ben?" Adeline worriedly called his name, hoping Ben wouldn't do it.

"You will forget, but I will remember. As long as one of us remembers, our love won't be forgotten. So, I will find you, even if it's across the world," Ben declared. He put the pill to his lips and then to Adeline's, causing her to swallow it with no resistance.

The tears that Ben had been suppressing broke free and streamed down his cheeks as he heard Adeline's voice, softly confessing, "I love you." The words lingered in the air just as she disappeared into thin air.

After Adeline disappeared, Ben felt like he was standing in a strange place. Everything seemed different, and the memories they once shared felt muted and cold. Life without Adeline was tough, like carrying a heavy load with each step. The bitter taste of the government-issued pill lingered on his lips, a stark reminder of the decision he had just made.

In the aftermath of Adeline's disappearance, Ben found himself standing in a world that felt both familiar and foreign. The once vibrant colors of their shared memories now seemed muted, replaced by the cold reality of a society that mandated forgetting.

As the days passed, Ben navigated the challenges of a life without Adeline. Each step felt heavy, burdened to get used to a life without Adeline. Ben held onto the memories of Adeline. He remembered her laughter, the way she touched him, and the sweet things she said. These memories became his comfort in a world that seemed to want him to forget.

He couldn't forget how Adeline disappeared. The pain of missing her made him more determined to challenge the system that wanted to erase their love. So, Ben's journey continued, guided by the promise he made to Adeline. "I will find you, even if it's across the world." In a world that kept changing,

Ben carried the flame of their love, a light that refused to go out, guiding him through the darkness of forgotten memories.
