Takemichi pov
In my small apartment complex, lying on the thin mattress that also served as my bed in my dirty and messy flat, eating chips, I listened to the presenter speak
"Now that July has started the weather in China has been hot and the distribution of air pressure has been bringing in warmth making the overall temperature higher than last year all across Japan. "Wait seriously? That's insane" I murmured, a little surprised, grabbed the remote control and turned up the sound, my attention completely focused on the presenter's words "But is in cardiopulmonary arrest, the one who died at the scene has been identified as Tachibana Naoto 25 years old, from Shibuya and another victim also from Shibuya, Tachibana Hinata"
My eyes widened at the mention of the name

the first and only girlfriend I dated in middle school

Before I had time to think about it, I heard a loud knock on my door and the annoying voice of my neighbor "Hey ! I know you're in there!" with a sigh I opened the door
"yes ?"
"How many times do I have to tell you that your TV is too damn loud ?"
"Sorry about that"
"Honestly, kids these days...." the neighbor complained as she was leaving
Later at work
While I was sorting through the DVD boxes I was thinking about how much I had wasted my life
My life is as messy as my flat
My head was so far up in the air that I wasn't even concentrating on arranging the DVD boxes
And my manager noticed
"Seriously, how many times do I have to tell you the same thing, Hanagaki Takemichi? DVDs need to go back on the shelves as soon as they're returned, I've told you this before right ?" reprimanded my manager, clearly annoyed
