EMERY JAMESON HAD an extraordinary amount of love for those around her. When she loved, she loved deeply. No matter who they were or how they treated her. She loved them.

Love was her fatal flaw. Emery knew that, of course, but she never wanted it to change. It was the one thing about herself that she admired. The one thing that nobody could take from her.

The only person who truly and wholeheartedly returned her love was Isaac Lahey. He understood her. He valued her. Isaac accepted Emery for how she was, and he never mistreated her once. They'd been together for two years.

Emery and Isaac had met at the start of eighth grade. Soon enough, they began dating in late December of that year. Nothing else mattered to them but each other. Despite their young age, they were in love. They couldn't imagine being with anybody else.

When Emery's life took an unexpected turn at the hands of Peter Hale, she tried to keep Isaac out of it. Emery may have become collateral damage, but she refused to allow Isaac to get involved. She wanted him to stay alive.

Life was pointless without Isaac. There was nothing left for Emery if he wasn't with her. She had other friends, such as Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, but they wouldn't be enough. Nobody could ever compare to Isaac.

Isaac was there for Emery during her worst time, even though he never fully knew what was happening to her. He didn't leave her when most people would've given up. He stayed.

He wanted to be there for her despite being unable to completely help her. All Isaac had to offer was his support and security — that was more than enough for Emery.

Anything and everything Isaac did was enough for Emery to love him more than she already did. He was her lifeline. Her reason for existing. She needed him like she needed breathing to survive. Isaac would never do anything to hurt Emery.

At least that's what she thought.
