I. wish i knew

y/n's pov:

i always wanted to go on a trip with my loved ones.

sometimes i feel like a zombie. i would just wake up, go to university, study, eat and sleep. i was following this routine since my school days.

i was sick of it.

i wanted to escape this cruel reality for a while.

so finally i told my boyfriend about the trip.

"siwoo-yah, let's go on a trip next weekend."

siwoo said, "yeah but the classes? "

"it's halloween so there will be no classes on thursday and friday. and we don't have classes on Saturday and sunday. so we got 4 days for our trip.",i said proudly in one breath.

"woah y/n, you have already planned the whole trip",siwoo said with a surprised face.

seo y/n and jung siwoo met in the college. they were from same department. y/n actually wasn't really interested in relationships.

but one day, it was the annual ceremony. siwoo gathered all of his braveness and went to her. he said while looking down at the ground, "hey, i don't know if it's rude or not but can i take you on a date? i like your smile a lot."

y/n was sitting with her friend in food stall. she looked at her friend in confusion and said,"umm... thank you for the compliment but i don't know  you quite well-"

siwoo said, "no, no, you don't have to force yourself to like me. you can take your time. if you don't mind can you give me your number? "

her friend gestured her to give him.
y/n was not really fan of the idea. she gave him at last.

siwoo smiled at her and said goodbye.

y/n thought to herself to give it a try cause you never know.

gradually they got closer. it's been 6 months of their relationship.

y/n never felt insecure in that relationship. but siwoo was overprotective all the time.

siwoo would always be in his house on the holidays. y/n would insist to go for hang out but he would reject it.

she thought he must be doing something important.

[scenes change]

finally the day came.

they were all ready to go on a trip to jeju. they were looking for countryside vibes so it was the best place.

after the journey of train and ship, y/n and siwoo arrived at the resort. she was happy to be here with him. she couldn't even hide her happiness.

siwoo said with disturbed tone, "calm down, it's not even big deal"

she was kind of upset that her boyfriend wasn't enjoying the moments.

time skip

after eating lunch, they left the resort to explore the place. they went to some famous destinations.

y/n was trying to focus on the journey and enjoy every second. but there was siwoo who wasn't really in that state of mind.

as if he was planning something other than travelling. he was scrolling through his phone all the time and whenever y/n complaining about his behavior, he only placed his phone by his side for few minutes.

after travelling all the day, they finally went back to the resort. even for a little bit, y/n wanted to see what siwoo was doing on his phone.

she knew that siwoo would never cheat on her. but somehow a weird thought was knocking at her inner self.

y/n tried to forget about the thoughts and suggested that they should get some drinks.

so they decided to drink after having dinner.

the sea was in front of the resort, they were sitting on the cold sand. siwoo was still on his phone doing something.

y/n got frustrated and said, "siwoo, should i leave right now? it seems like you don't wanna be part of this. since morning, i am watching you scrolling through your phone. like can you just say you don't wanna here with me??"

without making it suspicious, siwoo quickly show his phone to her and it was a dress she wanted. siwoo said innocently," y/n, why are you getting angry? i was choosing what your gift will be for you birthday."

y/n didn't know how to react to it. she sighed and turned her head to the sea view. she could feel that siwoo had become manipulative these days.

siwoo finally got his mind in right state and started to lead the conversation between them.

siwoo said excitedly, "look at the moon, y/n!"

both looked at the celestial moon and was mesmerized by its beauty. at that time, siwoo held her hand and said,"you've always been my first priority. i don't know but these days i feel like i'm not doing well."

she said with worried eyes, "you're gonna be okay. i'm always here with you."

he smiled a bit and looked away from her gaze. he was staring at the vast ocean. he uttered, "y/n, if i ever get involved into a crime scene like in the movies, what would be your reaction? "
this sudden question actually made her confused. "it's just a random question",y/n thought to herself.

she replied,"i would try to understand why you did it."

he then looked at her and said, "would you still love me?"

his eyes were telling a truth that no one knows. she was silent and just hugged him tightly.

she said while hugging him,"siwoo, you're tired i guess. let's go".

after pulling away from hug, she felt his lips on hers. all of the random thoughts about him suddenly became invisible. she didn't know what to do. she kissed back.

she felt that she wanted to be in that moment for a while but something from her heart made her pull back.

y/n said, "it's late, siwoo. let's go back."

he agreed and they headed towards the resort. they arrived their room and it took a minute for y/n to sleep.
the whole journey became exhaustion instead of stress-free.

timeskip

it was midnight 2am.

y/n slept for 4 hours and woke up with a headache. she stood up and went to grab a bottle. while drinking water, she got rid of her sleepiness.

she realized that there was no sign of siwoo in the room. she called him for like 10 times but it wasn't worth it.

being impatient, she finally got out and tried to find him.

silence surrounded everywhere.
a pin-drop silence.
only water tides were being heard.

y/n roamed around the main part of resort but he was nowhere. she was worried. she was thinking if he had done anything bad to himself.

after one hour, y/n still couldn't contact siwoo. she was ready to go back. but suddenly she heard a thud sound from the back side of the resort. she preferred not to go there.

again she heard the same sound. now she changed her mind and head towards the sound to open up the mystery.

she walked to the hallways. the sound was getting more vivid. suddenly she saw a silhouette with a knife dripping of some liquid. when it got under the light, it was blood.

she looked at the person.
she was not expecting what was waiting for her.

it was jung siwoo. the person whom she loved.
