Sitting alone, without his crew and without Sora especially, Magpie stares off at the sunset as the tears roll down his face. He sniffles, his face red, due to how long he's been crying on the edge of the ship, their body leaning against a flagpole uncomfortably. Surprisingly enough, the flagpole's hard surface doesn't phase Magpie at all, or maybe it does...He's just too deep in his thoughts and emotional hurt to even notice or care about the physical hurt. They had gotten the treasure, at the cost of a crewmate, not even treasure can make up for that. Magpie lets out a harsh wail, burying his head into his knees with a tremble. The sounds of the ocean are calming, and they fade to harsh, loud waves that don't stop in the background. The waves are deafening while hitting the bottom of the ship below, the salt in air makes Magpie blink repeatedly, it stings his eyes, making them squint with a small wince. The ocean sounds almost cover up Magpie's rapid tears and sobs enough for nobody in his crew that is resting after such a horrible day to notice, almost at least.
Opal shuffles over slowly- almost cautiously, in her hand is a bottle of rum. "...Liking the ocean tonight Mag?" Opal questions in a soft, nervous voice, not pushing for Magpie to vent or explain to him why they're crying. Besides, Opal knows just as well as the others why Magpie is upset, the others have had their fair share of grieving as well. Magpie is unresponsive, which isn't normal for the usually social Magpie, that can barely keep his trap shut for the life of them. Magpie doesn't speak for a little longer before he finally manages to utter some words. "I guess.." Magpie fidgets around with his necklace, turning and twisting it, the necklace clicks and clatters quietly against his rather shiny, gold and silver finger rings that meet the necklace on his neck. "That's good, up for a chat?" Opal grins, an awkward grin, not odd for Opal. Magpie wipes his tears, some of his red hair being pushed to the side as well, Magpie slowly nods.
"It's...Rather cold tonight isn't it?" Magpie whispers this, Opal sighs as they sit beside Magpie, patting him on the shoulder. "It is cold- freezing almost. Maybe when we get to land, it'll snow..." Opal pauses, her train of thought drifting to a thought, he chuckles, looking at Magpie, his eyes shining with a little sparkle. "Then you could throw those snowballs at Celeste, piss her off a lil." They tease Magpie, similar to how an older sibling would, Magpie can't help but laugh a bit, still feeling a hole in his heart. "Ye know she wouldn't like that..." Magpie chuckles, wiping his eyes again with a quiet sniffle, a little smile forms on their face. "It would be funny though." Magpie adds to his words, laughing a little more, Opal follows. It's the first laugh they've had since the accident, it's small. But it's a start. "That's the Magpie I know." Opal gives a bright, toothy smile, before looking back at the sky and the setting sun.
Opal sets his bottle to the side, focusing on the conversation. She watches the sunset, Magpie does too, his eyes a little red in the sides, plus puffy looking from crying for so long. Opal doesn't ask, they don't want to ask a question till he knows Magpie is ready to talk about it.
