Cosmic Reckoning

Chapter 1

There was once a young boy trying to escape from the royal guards since he stole many precious items from there. He was seen running all around the country -- even some civilians tried to stop him too but he was too fast and had good reflexes for anyone to capture him.

" Stop it, brat! " One of the guards shouted.

" Please don't! I have my mom to take care of and you guys never help us when we are not good in financial at all! " The young boy cried while escaping their chase.

" That was why I had to steal and even the royal treasure... it was only a treasure -- does it even hold importance to him!? " The boy continued.

The chase had happened for a while until the boy found a place to hide. It was a cave that led to somewhere else but there was a sign not to enter. However, the boy did not listen to what the sign said -- he believed he would survive for sure. He just had to be very careful when stepping inside that mysterious cave.

" Hey! Don't you go in that cave! It's dangerous! " One of the guards shouted, warned the kid but apparently, he did not listen as he went inside very fast.

" Damn it! " They shouted.

" Is this not the cave rumored to be the cave of death because no one has ever stepped out of the cave after they go in? " One of the civilians said.

Many guards and civilians gossip to each other regarding the young thief who had just gone into the forbidden cave that could take his life.

Meanwhile, inside the cave, the boy lighted up the surroundings -- luckily, he brought the lighter, or else he could never imagine the danger while trying to find the path in the darkness. The boy was terrified when he looked down where he was -- many skeletons were lying around him. The boy could not move -- he had not seen such a thing like this before. He tried to calm himself and looked around his surroundings to be more familiar with it.

However, when he looked around, he realized that he did not see any exits anymore. It seemed that he was trapped completely in the dark and fearful cave. The boy was very terrified as he marched himself in every direction, but no matter the distance or how far had he been walking, he still did not find the exits at all. It was as if the cave was an infinite space that no matter how long or how far he walked, he would never get anywhere.

" N-no...! " The boy panicked -- seemed like his fate had been sealed.

" This could not be happening... LET ME OUT! " The boy screamed very loud in the infinite-sized cave but there was no response back except silence.

" How can this be... I have been trapped. So this is what the cave is about... I cannot get out of here! People who go inside this cave will be starved and dehydrated until their skins decay and eventually become a skeleton! " The boy breathed heavily -- he was scared -- he panicked -- he had been isolated from the outside completely.

The boy had waited there for 5 hours, he had been counting every second. He wondered if others were worried about him, meh! He was a young thief and he believed that others must have celebrated his departure. However, what about his mother? The boy lay down, he hoped that his only mother would do okay without him.

He cried - he had no hope. He waited patiently for death. That was until he encountered the light glowing in front of him. 

" Your time has not come. I sense the need for help from you. I apologize if I take too long but due to circumstances, this space-time is very difficult for me to enter at my current phase. " The mysterious divine voice spoke calmly.

" Do not fear. I am not going to do anything but drink this instead. " Suddenly, there was a potion beside him.

He thought for a second. It was either drink it or accept the fate of dying here. However, how could he trust him? What if he was lying and trying to make his life even worse? What if he was the one who killed those people? What if he was going to make me drink something that could turn me into food? He was in a thought crisis and he did not know what to do.
