GAME OF CARDS.

THE NEW BEGINNING.

Nathaniel walked down the stairs with his hands in his pocket.
"Nath, I've been calling since." Eva, Nathaniel's mom said upset as she tried to touch a strand of his hair.
"I wish there was a way to avoid going to college. But I have to." He thought as he moved her hand away from his hair."hmm!" He heaved a sigh and sat on the sofa.
" Mmm... So mean." Eva muttered sadly as she got his break fast .
After having his break fast, he stood and walked up to the door about to leave.
" Nath, won't you...give me a hug before leaving?" Eva asked childishly, approaching him.
"Tssk!" He let out in irritation.
" Hmm. Fine." He accepted. Eva giggled excitedly as she hugged him.
" He's so...cute." She said waving at him.
As he was walking to school, the breeze was so welcoming.
With his normal attitude, putting his hands in his pocket, he walked slowly as the breeze became too much.
" Nathaniel !!" A girl about his age ran towards him. He swiftly slided his head to the direction of the call, only to see a girl in crop top and a jacket on it and a miniskirt way above her knee level.
" Nath, come on , I'll drive you to school." She offered as she bent down trying to catch her breath.
" School? Do I... know you.?" This was the first time he ever made a complete  sentence.
" Hmm, hmm." She giggled and stood erect.
" I am Tiffany Aloré. I attend the same school as you do. Breem College. I'll drive you there. She said again pointing at her car.
" No. I can walk to school ...on my own." He replied coldly which made her angry.
" So you prefer,a long distance to school?" She asked.
" Yes. Helps my legs." He said and left
" Grrh, no one turns down Tiffy's offer." Tiffany said and left for her car, slamming the door so hard.
(At school)

Nathaniel was now panting hardly as he had just ran a long distance.
" I should have just accepted her offer or Evan collected transport fare from Eva." He regretted his actions as he walked tiredly into the hallway. Murmur filled the area as he passed. He learnt not to show interest in such things. He kept walking as he was pushed down by someone.
" Hey, motherfucker. Didn't I tell ya, I ain't wanna be seeing ya damn face in this skall. Then you had the guts to hurt ma babe. Dude ya gone." Eric, Nathaniel's worse nightmare said about to beat the scum out of him.
" Wat... who's your...babe? Nath tried to get off the floor.
" Dude,dude. He got the guts" One of Eric's guys said to the other.
" You really wanna know?" Eric grabbed Nathaniel by the shirt.
" It's Tiff were talking about you scum bag.." Eric yelled in annoyance as he punched his face. Nathaniel started to cough out blood.
" Come on dudes, lets get the hell outta here." Eric and his gang left him alone, bleeding on the floor.

The bell rang and all students left for their different courses.

" Nathaniel Yoshiko. Nathaniel Yoshiko!!!" Mr Alvarez Called in the class.
" The fool must have gone......missing."
One of the bad mouthed male student yelled and laughter filled the class.
About 20 minutes later, Nathaniel walked into the class and this made the murmurs louder.
" Yoshiko, meet me in my office after this class" Mr Alvarez said angrily staring at him. He knew for sure he was in big trouble. Mr Alvarez always finds him absent in class at the beginning and this makes him to keep a close eye on him. This was not the first or the second time this 😡 happened and it just kept repeating itself. Alvarez decided to act quickly.
After an hour of Biochemistry, Nathaniel left to meet Mr Alvarez before the next lecture commences.

" Excuse me sir, may...I come in." Nathaniel asked softly as he stood at the entrance of the door.
" What do you think?" He grunted angrily and Nathaniel speedily came in and took a seat.
" Yoshiko, I've had enough of you. Show your disgraceful face to your director and report your crime, seeking for a punishment. Leave my office." He angrily dismissed him.

( Yoshiko's POV)

" I'm gone. What if I get expelled or suspended. What if I get pushed back to the lower set. Only if I could beat them up. Only if I could kill that bitch he has as a girlfriend. What am I going to do now? What is left for me?"
He lamented as he walked up to the Director's office.
