Finally, Breem College was back in business and all students were to resume school the next week.
Ruby's POV
My happiness and joy escalates to the highest level as the unending thought of returning to school kept ringing in my head. Obviously not because I loved school but because of someone who made me love school. Joy filled my heart as I was timing my driver to get me to school.
The weather was spectacular, making my moisturized skin boom in response. I made my self look much better than before.
My hair was braided and I looked like a love guru. Did I really love this guy.
Several thoughts hit me, and my thought process was constantly clouded with the little ideas of making him notice me. Love can really make a once comported person, a hell of a mess. I always wanted to look good.I kept believing that I was beautiful enough so it wouldn't take much energy.
" Lady Ruby, we have arrived." My driver, Chessmann relayed. I shook my head in recovery after the third call.
" Oh. Right. Thanks." I slammed the door and walked into the lecture hall after picking my books from my locker.
I rushed into the class in other not to miss my biochemistry class.
I sat on my normal spot and dug my face into my phone not intending to remove. The noise in the hall became too much, so I lifted my head in curiosity. Two of my course mates were having a small fight. I sighed after stretching out. I dropped my phone on the table and let my eyes survey the room.
Boom!
I saw Nathaniel with his head placed on the table. The way his black hair scattered around his face was so pleasurable. I smiled in victory.
I silently prayed he would sight me. But guess what, he didn't even attempt to lift his head. Mrs Smith, our biochemistry lecturer walked into the class and murmurs filled the room. Few minutes late, Mrs Smith instructed Wendy, that was distracted to move to my seat and I, to hers. Biggest day of my life. Her seat was right next to Nath. Few inches away from his seat, my heart began to bang crazily. Finally, I got there and sat. I was listening to any thing the lecturer said but rather stared at him with my side eye. He smelt so good. I mean really good.
" What's wrong?" He caught me staring at him
" Em, I... I need...to ....see your....note." I think my heart skipped a beat.
" Here. Be quick." He stated bluntly.
This guy is really cold. I thought to myself. I should be listening to the lecture not distracting someone else.
" How...old are you?" I couldn't help but ask. His gaze was inflictingand he looked away. He sighed slightly emotionless.
" 17." He let out a simple answer. I expected him to ask me too, but he didn't care any Iess.
" Em..." I was interrupted by him.
" Let's talk later. You're distracting me." He said coldly. I was offended at first but happy when he said we'll talk later. My lip turned a pink hue and embarrassment made my cheeks turn light red. After thinking of possible ways to meet with him, I figured that class was over. So I got nothing out of today's first lecture. Way to go, Ruby Lancé.
I was shocked that Ashe asked no questions to me cause I was pretty much distracted. I stood and moved to my seat. I left the hall for my locker only to see Tiffany standing right next to my locker.
" What do you want?" My mood completely changed. My veins began to pop. She giggled and immediately wore a strong frown.I saw you earlier. What do you think you're doing?
This question left me in a trance of confusion. I looked at her bluntly not ready to give her an answer.
" Oh, you can't talk. Well, that's better. Let me warn you. Stop flirting with you Know who. Stay away from him. He deserves someone less odd in appearance." She mocked my read hair. I was always insulted and mocked because of the red color of my hair.
" He deserves a less proud bitch,
Y' know." It was a slip of tongue.
She growled at me and shoes me her middle finger.
" You won't get away from me so easily." She hissed and left stumping her feet to the floor.
I heaved a sigh of relief. She's gone
I thought stuffing my books into my locker. I left for the cafeteria tiredly. I knew Tiffany was going to go extra miles so I had to make myself mentally, physically and emotionally stable.
I sat alone at a cafeteria table and Preston called. Just then I bumped into Nath as I wanted to grab a bottle of water. My phone fell off my hands and I stared lovingly at him.
" S..sorry." I noticed how hard it was for him to say sorry but I shrug it off.
He was about leaving and I broke the silence.
" Nath, can we...talk." I prayed silently that he won't turn down my offer.
He looks hesitant, and nods in reply.
I took a seat and he sat inches away from me.
Em, do u have...a sister. I asked stupidly. " No" he gave a single word answer.
" So..." I was interrupted.
" I lost my dad and I m left with my mom. " He didn't bother to speak about his mom's mental illness.
" Oh. So sorry. Just wanted to know." I felt pity for the poor guy.
" Sure. Can I leave now?" He asked emotionless.
I blink my eyes trying to process what just happened. I nodded' yes' as an answer and he walked away with his tray of food.
I slapped my cheek softly as I tried to recall what just happened. I smiled happily even though he wasn't lively enough but I managed to have at least, a little chat with him and that was the biggest day of my life. His scent, so nice and his hair pretty. I couldn't believe he had ear piercings. He looked gorgeous.
